Someone asked me to replace a brake bulb in 07 fiesta

There is no "black plastic screwthing", referred in the owner's manual as a wing nut. In the manual it actually shows a dawing of a wing nut. In the present case there is just the square 'clip' connector that has the wires on it. Do i remove that before the screws or clip first?

You can take the wiring plug out afterwards. The video actually shows exactly what to do.

There is a first time for everything and sometimes it takes a few goes to get it right and learn. Yeah he could get someone else to do it but he is trying to learn to do it himself. Why not give the guy a break.

You’ll be grand. The clip at the top will line it up for you.

This is the learning process. Who knows, may be he will be the top mechanic in the future. Only feed the more challenges and everything can be possible.

Honestly the modern cars the bulb installations are nightmare. They cover everything and sometimes the space for installation are extremely tight. All are designed for only single purpose, earn more service money. Always show the middle of finger for hundred(s) of euro bulb replacement. Yes that part are offensive because this are madness. This is just very-very bad design if you need to remove the pumper and the light assembly to replace "properly" the bulb. It is not case on that thread, but too many cars are designed that way...

He stated it's not his car. Would you want someone unqualified, uninsured, learning how to do things on your car?

We all started from somewhere. I had over thousand hour wrenching experience before I got my own car. These days the system are broken and does not allow to buy old car for young drivers. They never learn that way anything. The first car must be complete garbage :P Fix it, drive it and that way you get the experience.

Leave the man alone he's probably trying to help some old dear out, that's mostly what drive those fiestas. Wouldn't be an indicator bulb anyhow because they don't use them :-)
