    Any Walter Macken book.

Did you have to walk to school when you were young?

Absolutely. Wasn't too far though about 20 mins

Do you think kids these days are too molly coddled?

(As an aside: My brothers missus is Walter Mackens granddaughter - I've never read his books though are they any use, I'm not much of a reader)

    That's a coincidence:).
I loved his books, mainly about Irish hardships, the famine, British oppression, independence struggle and civil war, though he wrote others too. Very well written and thoughtful books.

    Yes, compared to my time.

What piece of literature had you to learn for the leaving cert?

Silas Marner by George Eliot, leaving cert 1990.
I still have my copy of it because I am a nerd like that :)

Do you still have any of your school books?

Still have a few in my mothers attic, purely because I'm too lazy to get up and get them out!

Would you like to be back at school?

I would at times, not for the work, but for the craic and the fact it was a much easier and carefree time of my life.

What subjects did you choose for the leaving?

Physics, construction studies and another one which escapes me at the moment!

You could pick 3 couldn't you? it's about 25 years since I sat my leaving!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,524 ✭✭✭magic_murph

    yes you could pick three.

If the world stopped turning in the morning - what would you do?

  • Registered Users Posts: 779 ✭✭✭Fifty grades of shay.

I'm not sure what would happen if theWorld, stopped turning so I don't know really.
If it stopped turning with the sun high in the sky over me and rain falling up the hills where I could get a good supply from then happy days I guess, if we didn't just fall off or melt away.

Do you have nightmares sometimes just wondering htf your world will end?

    Any Walter Macken book.

Did you have to walk to school when you were young?

I loved flight of the doves as a child

I used to walk about 3/4 of a mile to the bus, just thinking about it yesterday , I was first on and had to be there quite early ...the moon was often still bright in a black sky .

I think teenagers with cars is mad though unless for a good reason ...not just messing

Do you like walking at night or wild camping ?

Walking at night is great, very early morning too. Less of those, what do you call them....humans, around.

    What would you do
If you were asked to give up your dreams for freedom?

What if freedom was my dream?

    Are you addicted to anything?

    As he said .

    I need freedom for that

    I'm addicted to someone's face.

    And tea.

    Are you ?

    Freedom isn't free
It costs folks like you and me
And if we don't all chip in
    We'll never pay that bill

I'm addicted to cigarettes and alcohol... and referencing Oasis songs.

    What would you do
If someone told you to fight for freedom?
