    And thats the companies fault ?

    Company failed to send someone out to change as per agreement with op. Then they told them to leave the car and make their own way. Then they decided to renage on this and claimed they hadn't said this.


    I wonder what they would say was said.

    Out of interest do a FOI request on all information on you. Do private companies have to respond?

    FOI does not apply to private companies, unfortunately. Only in the Civil & Public service.

    Maybe the wrong term was used but an individual has the right to a copy of any information that a company holds on them even phone recordings.

    The onus should be on the company here, they could not help him over the phone (by telling him where the jack was), they could not send anyone out to assist him and they told him to leave the car where it was.

    They then charge him over €500 despite being no help. He should be asking Hertz to reimburse him for the additional cost he had to incur going to the airport.

    The car belongs to Hertz, flat tyres happen, businesses have to take responsibility.
