I dropped the easiest difficultly to finish it off. The fourth red planet is by far the most interesting.

So far this is a great game, sure a little bit slow to start with but the more powers you unlock the better the game gets. I had to drop the difficulty to normal as the load screens are just too long.
Edit: So I finished it just there. Amazing experience made you feel powerful but vulnerable at the same time and the double bladed saber is kick ass. My only problem was it was too short.

Really enjoying this so far. Combat is good, if tough at times, and the story is ticking along nicely with some good voice acting. Looking forward to getting more time with it this week.

Not sure i've ever enjoyed deflecting blaster fire as much as i do in this :)

Just finished it on hard, might of preferred it on hardest difficulty. it was fun but not ground breaking, love the last level though, more of that would of been better, actually felt like a Jedi.

What difficulty are ye playing on?

Jedi Master which is the second hardest difficulty. Only dropped down for two bosses who were annoying me

Normal, Jedi Knight I think. Challenging without being frustrating, you need to learn some bosses and heavies, but for the rest of them you can slice and dice at will :)

I'm on Jedi Master, I had to turn it down at the start because I couldn't get the hang of it but turned it back up now. Still die a bit but not enough to really annoy me. I don't think the game handles Cal vs a large number of enemies very well, those fights aren't that fun.

    Just finished it there now.

Bloody good fun this. It's like god of war meets uncharted meets dark souls. Is it perfect? No. Exploring out of your way and finding something cool just for it to be 200xp isn't that interesting and they should have fixed this.

Also, as somebody who played on Grand Master difficulty, the timing window for animals is way too small. With men and humanoid type creatures, the timing window may be the same....but you know what a guy swinging a weapon at you looks like. When they are alien-looking and you never quite know when to parry which is why fighting a sith lord is easier than fighting a random space goat.

Also, you dont get a big enough force bar. There is too big a gap between not having enough force power to use your abilities....which you spend like 90% of the game experiencing.....and the end of the game where you have pretty much infinite force with stims returning all your power to you. This needed a more generous balancing.

Flaws aside, being a jedi is super fun and by the end of the game when you have the full tree unlocked, you are a juggernaut. I really hope this sells well because I want a sequel.

  • I'm on the last planet. The tension has ramped up big time.
Really have enjoyed it thus far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,976 ✭✭✭Cordell

Finished it last night, quite enjoyable in spite of my reluctance about this kind of gameplay. But it could be better, maybe have block/parry cues to ease you on the learning curve and definitely more force available even if it means less regular damage - I found using force extremely satisfying but also frustrating to run out of it and not having enough for a combo when most needed.

8/10 from me, not the best game of the year but up there.

Really have enjoyed it thus far.

The last planet/mission was also really good so it's annoying not to be able to replay it when you finish the game. Like, it drops you in to collect all the stuff you missed and specifically says "That last cool mission? Yeah, you can't play that again."

    Why?

Well that was excellent absolutely loved that ending

The last level is star wars porn if you a fan.

Bloody great game. Hopefully this is what Titanfall 3 will be like (if they ever get round to making it). Still cant believe they are with EA. A guess EA have the sense to step back and leave a good thing to it

Can anyone help me figure out how to get this as a gift for someone on the PC?
Tried through both Origin and Steam, and I need to know their playerID in order to send it as a gift.

Amazon has it listed as "Note: Currently, this item is available only to customers located in the United Kingdom. Platform: PC Download - Origin Code". It's "currently unavailable", but they could email me when it's ready.

Gamestop website lists XBox etc, but no apparent option for the PC version.

There's a few sites popping up on google selling "origin codes", but I've no idea if they're trustworthy.

    Any help?

You can get this as a gift link, its 100% legit.

g2play is legit in that you will get a code.

I've been playing it most of the week and it's definitely the best Star Wars game of the last few years. Although as I write that it occurs to me that there hasn't been that many.

I also just found out the game only saves when you meditate. I spent a few hours poking around to get 100% on Zeffo only to glitch inside a piece of terrain so I quit. I lost about three hours of progress, fortunately it happened on the way back to the Mantis and the trophies had already popped.

Finished this proper lastnight , I'd go as far as saying that it got me to resub for a bit in swtor to play the Jedi knight storyline.

The mood and atmosphere throughout the game was excellent and left me wanting more.

Finished the game a few minutes ago. Definitely worth it if you like Star Wars although the amount of former/lapsed Jedi running around in post III pre IV canon now might need to be addressed at some point. Maybe a purge 2.0.

I think Merrin was a little underused but hopefully there'll be a sequel and she gets more screen time.

Did anyone else find the boss on Dathomir much more difficult than the final boss? He took me a few tries but I breezed through the last one.

One of the big surprises for me was the inquisitors themselves and how the "rule of two" is really only reference to the leadership of the sith order.

I do hope they address the former/lapsed Jedi, allot of room for growth beyond they all died but perhaps the moved to the unknown regions.

Also agree with Merin comments, I loved how she expanded the force powers.

The Dathomir fight was a pain in the arse, when I looked into it online it was described as a sekiro like battle. He was a pain as he was immune unless he was coming to **** you up. Would have been nice to get more insight into him before he arrived on the planet.

The Dathomir fight he had a 4 or 5 hit swing, was hard to judge but like most of the boss fights force powers useless. it was a game of sedition.

easy enough once you figured it out but you were gonna get hit.

I knew about the Inquisitors from Rebels. It makes a lot of sense instead of having to train a new apprentice from the ground up. Some Sith: "It's definitely just two Sith but I don't see a rule saying we can't have as many dark Jedi aspirants as we want."

Honestly, one of my biggest disappointments of the new trilogy is no new Jedi Order headed by Luke, the old EU had some great Jedi characters.

True enough I suppose I never looked at it like that and they don't go out of their way to differentiate between dark Jedi and sith.

Would have been nice to see the story focus on something like rebuilding the new order rather than having Luke go on meltdown.

Force push is great for when they try a red unblockable. It stops it dead and you can just hit them. Slow also works for some free hits.

Took me ages to figure out if you just tapped force push it would work, i kept holding it down and getting wrecked.

I think the force push is what made it that much more easier.

Light saber throw for some weak free hits too.

I think Jedi Outcast remains the best Star Wars action game.

Also if you tap dodge without a direction, you get a bullet-time dodge which is pretty effective.
