Hi. I have a friend travelling from Birmingham to Chicago with a 4 hour stop in Dublin. Will he be able to come out of the airport and then back through security etc. for the Dub to Chicago flight or does he have to stay airside? It’d be great to catch up with him if possible. Thanks!

Yes provided he has the relevant papers to enter Ireland. It will be a short catch up as he will have to do US Pre-Clearance before he boards and the recommended timeframe is 3 hours to complete all formalities.
