Curry Addict is the acknowledged guru here when it comes to curry. His Chicken Biryani is pretty simple to make and delicious.

I usually add caramelised fried onions to add a bit of sweetness and some chopped coriander leaves for the colour. You can vary the spice level with the amount of red chillis you use.

You can make onion bhajis in advance and just reheat before using.

    Good luck with the wedding!

Chetna Makan on YouTube is worth a look. I've made loads of her stuff and when I bring it to work people get envious and my smugness increases exponentially.

If you have a pressure cooker, then I recommend the myheartbeets blog which has lots of indian recipes. I have used most of them and some are my tried and tested favourites that I use frequently, especially the black eyed pea curry. All of them have turned out as they should, no duds. If you love indian food and you don't have an instant pot pressure cooker, it's a perfect excuse to buy one!

Madhur Jeffrey has published loads of Indian cookbooks - she’s the Delia Smith of Indian cooking.

I recently bought Fresh India by Meera Sodha and the recipes are delicious.

My go to Indian dish.... Lamb Bhuna, nadiya hussian's recipe( I add in loads of spinach also) get it on the bbc site, I usually triple the amounts and freeze the leftovers, not heavy on the stomach, real easy to make and always a big hit.

I took a cooking class in Pune last year. It's Punjabi Dhaba-style dishes, I've attached the recipes.
I've tried them all, they're easy to make and taste amazing.
