Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thinking to buy a 2012 Skodo Fabia 1.6L diesel

Any opinions on Skodo Fabia 1.6L Diesel? Year 2012. Seller asking for 6000.
Do you think it's reasonably priced? Do you think I can get something similar cheaper? Would like to bargain to 5500 at least. We got a car from him and the car has been so far so good (two months). So we think that he's trustworthy.

I am also looking into getting Yaris as I had one and really like it. But with the budget (4500-5500), I think it would be older cars that I can afford?

    Does it make a different though, a 2010 or a 2012?

And usually with the modern cars and proper regular service, how many km maximum it can go?

    Million thanks!

I think 6000 is a reasonable price for 2012. I certainly wouldn’t go back to 2010 to save €500, I would find the extra.

Those diesels need to be driven long journeys, otherwise they will give costly problems. What’s your mileage?

    Define “long”.

Are you sure a diesel is right for you, considering you're looking at a Yaris as the alternative? What sort of mileage are you doing?

Modern diesels take longer to warm up so need to be taken on a good spin to achieve that. They are not for a low mileage city driver
