Am I right in assuming that most of the building materials used in Ireland come from or through the UK? If so, Brexit could cause significant delays to the building industry.

Someone who does purchasing of industrial chemicals was saying in conversation that they are anticipating problems as most chemicals come from or through the UK, is a similar situation likely to arise with building materials?

There is major problems if the materials been used are certified by test centres within the UK. The Notified bodies are in the process of setting up test labs within the EU now to try a get ahead of this.
