Earth Taps Bathroom

Hi, we moved into a new built house 10 years ago. I notice that an earth lead was run to the copper pipes at sinks in bathrooms but that earth strap not connected to copper pipes. The sinks have built in units so access to the pipes will be hassle now. Does it need to be done in a new build house?

Yes all the pipes should be bonded with the earth connected to a bonding strap
