Video of a fool in Limerick

Nasty video doing the rounds of a guy in Parnell Street slagging off people who are not white. Its fairly alarming, I meet this kind of attitude all the time around Limerick. And its not just the dole merchants like the knack in this video either. Obviously cant post the video sorry.

I'm Polish and I encounter racism from time to time and I'm fairly white. I do not think it's Limerick per se, just frustrated people who have nothing else to do. Go to Dublin same ****, even more so with heroin addicts being out of their mind.

Haven't seen it myself but I can just imagine the type of character involved - a good for nothing dole parasite with a big mouth and too much time on their hands, a common sight on Parnell Street.

Of course there is discrimination everywhere i agree, but not everyone boasts about it and openly calls people names while recording it.

Gowl in Limerick is giving the city which already has a bad name a worse one. But ya I guess you're right no point in starting a thread on it when its falling on the likes of your deaf ears. Off you go then if the thread has no interest to you.

I think the concrete "plaza" in front of the station detracts from the appearance of the overall area. It seems disproportionately large and featureless as well as empty given that there are few pedestrians on that side of the street at any time of day.

If the thread title is implying Limerick is a racist city then I'd challenge that view point - if the OP is saying we have racists in Limerick then I'd have to agree but then I'd imagine most cities would have some amount of racists living there.

It's standard practice on this forum to put the city down. Something bad happens and people are on claiming the whole city is a dump and a disgrace. It gets pointed out that it's not unique to Limerick and that Limerick is no worse than the rest of the country and you get accused of being naive or turning a blind eye. Rinse and repeat.

Having listened to the video, it's obvious the person who recorded it isn't on the upper end of the IQ spectrum.

I think it's an over reaction to a pathetic piece of mischief. A bit like being outraged at something the Village Idiot said or did.

If a third level student or similarly educated person made that video, then there would be good grounds for outrage and offence.
