    Have an established community tank one angel, 2 bala, 4 widow tetra, 1 catfish and one neon tetra. Recently planted with substrate and dorset pebble, the problem is dirty water the filter is cleaned weekly but the water is a muggy cloudy colour, anytips??

    Could easily have introduced a microbe infection to the water, with plants and substrate.


    Daily water changes and check your water chemistry (double check you feeding levels)?

    What do you mean you clean the filter weekly? You shouldn't need to clean the filter, this is where the good bacteria live. Has this just happened since the new substrate going in? If that's the case it should settle in a few days.

    I reckon from cleaning the filter weekly you have a constant bloom, cleaning filter weekly isn't s good idea
