9.2 AV Receivers with pre- outs

Hi guys,

I'm looking at options for integration of my new TV into my pre- existing home theatre setup, allowing for upgrade to latest processing technologies as well as multiple (some to be added) speaker options. As some (not all) of my speakers are currently separately powered, I want to retain the flexibility of supplying both pre- out and amplified signals to all channels, thereby facilitating wide- ranging options for the forseeable future. 

Would ye mind having a chin-wag with yeer experts, and advise what would fit my requirements in a device that wouldn't require a 4th (already have multiple loans on the gaff) mortgage to finance it. I have looked at the Onkyo RZ-*30 series and they seem to tick many boxes, but I'm wondering if there are alternatives that would be better. I have to say that I'm not sold on the Onkyo, given that the 2 owners I know who have their receivers have BOTH suffered HDMI board failures, albeit on much older models.

I'm looking to take a massive step forward from my 1998 Dolby Pro- Logic setup which is simply not cutting the mustard given all the newer DTS and Dolby options that are available.

The Onkyo is actually a great amp and sounds fantastic.
Its also well spec'd for the price at 1099 Euro
