Also just noticed on TM that you need to buy the "Kaleidoscope 2019 - Campervan / Caravan / Car Camping Pass" to go along with your Camping Ticket.

I would like to do the Car Camping, but at what cost? No cost shown on website. Also, I'd like to know how far away the Car Camping is from the venue, normally Campervans are miles away from the venue.

Car camping is 87 euro and campervan is 55. Lots of info on the email they sent today.

Join us for a three day and three-night sleep-over at Ireland’s first family camping festival with a very. special Early Bird offer for a family of four for only €105.75

16 stages, designed to entice and enthral all, from babes in arms to those eligible for a bus pass!

Born out of Electric Picnic, Kaleidoscope harnesses the magic of Picnic’s entertainment and family campsites, tailoring the overall festival experience to the desires of the festival-going family and bringing the essence of Electric Picnic to a brand-new venue. Kaleidoscope heralds a new era of programming for the sophisticated taste of modern parents, discerning kids and all-knowing teens!

Our extensive creative programme has been tailored to cater for each and every member of the modern Irish family. Kaleidoscope offers specific programs for ‘smallies’, for 4-8, 8-12 and 12-16 year olds, together with all the festival favourites for adults of all ages! Children and teen programmes will take place within Russborough’s walled garden and an utterly enchanting fairy fort located on the forest’s edge.

Every element of the programme has been carefully selected because it is thought provoking, interactive and inspirational, as well as hugely entertaining! We are delighted to welcome Fighting Words, Science Gallery and herpetological hobbyist Collie Ennis to the creative team - specialists and enthusiasts in their fields and world leading innovators in inspirational learning.

And that’s not all - parents with babes in arms can bust some moves in the Baby Disco. For the energetic at heart - a feast of urban and adventure sports, water sports, morning runs and other endorphin inducing activities. Sooth your mind and body with our wellness program which includes meditation, Tai Chi and yoga. Our woodland spa offers access to a selection of massage treatments, hot tubs and seaweed baths. The Scrumdiddlyumptious Festival of Food is a feast of fun for everyone! And all of this in addition to the arts festival favourites of theatre, spoken word, visual art, circus, cinema, comedy and music. Kaleidoscope is a veritable feast of full family participation!

It is no accident that Kaleidoscope’s gates open the very day schools finish for the summer, giving families the opportunity to move straight from the classroom to the campsite and start their summers off with a bang!

Russborough House is set in an expansive 200 acre estate located just 20km from Dublin in Co. Wicklow, just off the N81, Kaleidoscope is designed to make the entire festival experience as seamless as possible. For the first time EVER in Ireland, Kaleidoscope will also offer ‘Car Camping’, reducing the trek from the car to the campsite to mere feet! Extremely popular in the USA, ‘Car Camping’ simply means that you load up all of your gear for the festival in your car, pull into your campsite and set up your tent on a designated tent pitch beside your car, putting an end to the laborious tasks of carrying gear back and forwards to some remote location. And there will be the usual availability of Boutique camping and Pink Moon camping that we have long come to associate with Electric Picnic.

The website is badly laid out. You can find details on the Early Bird Family ticket (2 adults and 2 children), general camping tickets, car parking passes, and car camping/campervan/caravan passes here:

    https://www.kaleidoscopefestival.ie/camping-tickets

Separately, you can find details of Loyalty pricing for camping and non-camping tickets here:

    https://www.kaleidoscopefestival.ie/loyalty-scheme

Non-camping and day ticket prices (including car parking passes, which you'll presumably need) are here:

    https://www.kaleidoscopefestival.ie/non-camping-tickets

Then you can find further details on each of the camping options (general camping, car camping, campervan/caravan, accessible, and boutique) here:

T&C for car camping option say that you can't sleep in the car. Had planned using this as extra space as our 7 seater can be converted into a 2seater with loads of flat space in back. Kinda defeats point of having car beside you, if you can only use it for storage.

To be fair who is actually going to stop you sleeping in your car? I can't see security lads peeking into steamed up windows at 3am. Would definitely give the wrong idea!

Health and safety, that's what. Makes sense, since only campervans are certified for fire.sleeping in car I assume isnt.

The point of having the car beside your tent is not for sleeping in it, it's to take away the drudge of carrying all your stuff from the car park to the the camp site.

Fair enough, I still don't think anyone would stop you doing it though.

And only one tent allowed per carcamping ticket, we have 3 kids which means 2family tickets, one carcamping ticket and only one tent. Not as good a deal as I thought.

I might be imagining this but I'm convinced that the website had car camping at €57 when I seen it a few days back, but now 87?

Well, no, surely you can your one family ticket and a separate single camping for one of the kids?

Simple answer, bring or borrow an eight man tent. ;)

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Who's going to stop you? I would be amazed if you can't get away with that.

    None. Marketing scam I’d say

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,625 ✭✭✭✭BaZmO*

Well that was a bit confusing. The early bird tickets were broken out into 4, 5, 6 tickets, rather than just one ticket. Got there in the end though.

Got the 4 early bird tickets, for 112 which is good....but went to purchase car camping and its nearly 120e, which is bananas! 17.50 delivery charge

  • Registered Users Posts: 208 ✭✭tmabr

Still no joy. Glad I broke my boycott of Ticketmaster. It reminds me to keep the boycott going

  • Registered Users Posts: 281 ✭✭johnytwentyten

Made an attempt to get the early bird tickets, was on before nine, none available,

This was the only way I was going to go but went through the process of ordering for two adults, two kids, booking fee was over 30 quid!

And what's better, the car camping ticket was going to cost €17.50 to deliver by post!!! With no other option, Ticketmaster should be run out of the place, they are a disgraceful company

  • Registered Users Posts: 375 ✭✭pajosjunkbox

Got early bird tickets...... As said above 120 for car camping which included 17.50 delivery charge. It must be a seriously heavy camping pass !

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 3,246 ✭✭✭judeboy101

17.50 euro for car camping delivery no e-ticket option!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,655 ✭✭✭✭MJohnston

It might be one of the best features of Body and Soul that they don't use Ticketmaster

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 3,246 ✭✭✭judeboy101

whats story with normal car park cant
    see where to buy that

"Parking pass for first car with a booking €6.35" no sign when buying tickets?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,539 ✭✭✭ghostdancer

buy the car camping at a TM kiosk if possible:
    https://www.ticketmaster.ie/etc/?tm_link=tm_ql_3

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,625 ✭✭✭✭BaZmO*

I didn't bother getting the Car Camping pass as it defeats the purchase of getting the really good value early bird ticket. It's a great idea to be able to park your car beside your tent but I'd be worried that the Car Camping site would end up being mile away from the main arena. I'm an EP veteran at this stage so I'm well used to lugging the tent from the car! :pac:

I got early bird tix. Confusion on the caravan pass though. You have to pay €17.50 for delivery by mail and there is no other option eg print at home.
