Final stage today, profile below. Far from a procession you sometimes see in the final day of a stage race. Stage 8 won by David de la Cruz of Team Sky last year, who isn't here this year. Actually I don't think he's done much racing at all this year.

If Sam Bennett had finished the race, he would have won the Green Jersey.
He had 37 points, winner of points category had 33 points.

Big surprise to see Quintana take it on the way he did and not sit there sucking wheels like he's done a lot in recent years. If a few in that group had worked with him he could have done it.

    That's a big missed opportunity you'd think.
Wonder was it his or the teams decision?

Plenty of Sprinters have got criticism on here for pulling out of the Giro.

PN 2019 lived up to the form of recent years by going down to the wire. Great to see Quintana having a go, but he was on his own for too long for it to work. Young and all as Bernal is, its interesting to read that Roche was nearly a full year younger when he won 38 years ago.....

For 10 years there was an Irish man on either the 1st or 2nd step of the podium at the end Paris-Nice. Kelly winning 7 times in a row and twice there was an Irish 1 2 with Kelly and Roche.

    Love procyclingstats

So it looks like all the GTs this year will be dominated even more by Sky compared to other years.
They can drop climbers at ease and they didn’t even have their A team out yesterday.
Plenty of boring racing ahead unless Yates can do something and I’m not his biggest fan either.

I enjoyed the col de turini stage and was surprised to see that such an iconic climb (albeit from motorsports and TopGear) has only been used 3 times in the Tour and not since 73. However in typical ASO fashion saturdays stage was simply a dry run for Stage 2 of the 2020 tour.

The 2020 tour will start in Nice and the first two stages have been released with an unusual amount of climbing in the first two days

Two days in Nice and full stages I'm guessing there won't be a prologue or TT to kick off the Tour so? They should double down and have an uphill TT :D
