Farell gets away with blue murder

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,569 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

Disgraceful play by Farrell. A penalty for Scotland is not enough. He should have been carded for that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,590 ✭✭✭CurryFlavoured

Ref has zero balls - that's such an obvious no arms tackle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,488 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

    5 points gone begging

What was Farrell going to do if the chip didn't happen??

    Was a pure shoulder charge.

Sure, in real time, you could say what could Farrell have done? On the other hand, what was he trying to do in the first place? He wasn't going for a charge down, and he wasn't attempting a tackle.

The face from Farrell just there. :D

    Now he's off for Ford.

As entertaining as this is if Scotland win here then today's result is even worse for us.

If the Scots win here they'll be kicking themselves that the let us away with a win in Murrayfield.

I don't think it matters what he was trying to do. In the end it was a late, no arms hit with a potential shoulder to the face / upper torso. It's a card all day, every day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,373 ✭✭✭twinytwo

Is that 4 games now that farrell has gotten away with shoulder hits?

Scotland backed at 1000/1. Hopefully they do it for some lucky punter if he hasn't traded out.

Or the punter has the good sense to cover themselves.

exactly and he has done it on plenty of occasions before. match officials should have their eye on it. Total cop out. terrible decision

If that's what's Farrell actually did he'll get cited.
Ill be surprised if he is.

Like I said, he's done worse before and not even penalised.

He can't disappear, and he braced himself for contact like most of us would in that situation.

    F**king Hell :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

And if we beat Wales, they probably would have lost 57-0.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,730 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

England completely phoning it in, disappointing really considering they put a good campaign in.

There have only been 5 draws in the history of the 6 nations, that would be an unlikely outcome.

Bummer anyway. Would have loved to have seen the Scots ended that run without a win at Twickenham

In hindsight Wales saved us from losing half the country to heart attacks by beating us.

Ah Scotland, nobody does glorious failure like Scotland.

That was absolutely embarrassing by England in the second half

Gave up tackling and completely phoned it in. Did they crack open a few beers at HT?

That last Scotland try was one of the worst I've ever seen conceded

the only thing is they'll surely never let that happen again. Farcical end to what was a good campaign for them
