In the corporate sector, most companies scrap old machines or they give them to https://camara.org/ If they gave them to their employees, they would come back hassling the IT department within weeks looking for a new mouse, screen, keyboard etc. Total nightmare.

I can't see how a distributor would have a load of refurbished machines - where would they come from and who would have done the refurb?

AFAIK, nobody commercially refurbishes laptops and PCs. The only prospective market is consumers and providing support would be a nightmare because there would be faults galore. Just not worth it. IT repair shops probably sell them but I can't see anyone holding bulk stock.

There's a distributor in south Dublin near the M50 that sells them.
I've bought new systems from them in the past in bulk, but never more than one refurb at a time.
They've changed their name a few times down through the years, but the business is long established.
I'm being vague because any time in the past I've named a supplier of anything, I get accused of advertising!

How many do you need? 10, 100, 500? What is the budget per unit? Very difficult to answer your question really without knowing the budget and what you mean by bulk. Ebay is the best place to buy in batches of 10 or so, and you can get pretty good machines for small money (eg 2nd or 3rd gen i5 + 4GB ram for about €100) from the UK if you look around.

If more power/speed is needed, easy to get 4th gen i5 + 8GB Ram + SSD for about €200 per unit.

In Ireland, you'd probably pay double that, or else pay the same for a machine a fraction of the speed.
