I had root canal and crown on tooth 12 but the crown kept falling out, i think some of the tooth fell away so there's now not enough for the tooth to bond to.

Anyway i've been advised to have an implant done so just trying to research as my own dentist doesn't do the whole process himself.

I see a place in sandyford offer Megagen Implants for around the €700 mark. Just wondering if anyone has experience with Megagen, are they a decent implant are they all the same process?
I'm tying to get a good deal but don't' want a dodge job obviously.

Would the price depend on the toot being done?

    they must be new.

for what its worth that clinic for whatever reason has very scant details about their dentists on the "about us" page.
Are they general dentists or specialists?

I think in general, its more about the skill of the person than the tech but Fitz or one of the dentists can advise more specifics.

Megagen Implants is a no named brand with a proprietary connection. Also that for the implant only, the crown is extra. For a few more euro you will get a specialist to put in a well known implant brand. As heli says its not really the screws the dentist uses, its the dentist putting in the screws that matters, clinics that go out of their way to hide who the actual dentists are and concentrate on "too good to be true" pricing are aiming squarly are a certain cohort of people.

That's a lot of needless stress& hassle for you.
Contact your dentist; ask them to refer you to an implant provider (they surely know someone suitable locally) for a consultation.
Once you've taken that first step& have the information you need/all questions answered (general& specific to your own case), then decide where you want to go,& who with. It'll be approx €100 for the consult/assessment but money well spent in terms of time saved.

    Sorry to hijack thread..
I am in need of 3 implants.. I've had one previously but have come across a clinic in cherrywood that would be 1500 overall cheaper than using existing specialist.
They list their dentists online and appear to be european which may be why they are cheaper..
Understanding it's the skill of the surgeon that is paramount..i wonder has anyone had experience?
    Any thought ?

I would be more concerned with the skill and experience of the surgeon and restorative dentist over what type of implant brand is being used, it is a better determinant of successful treatment. Megagen is an implant system from Korea gaining popularity. Most specialist dentists will stick to more well known brands because of ease of getting parts anywhere in the world that the patient finds themselves. The most well known brands are probably Nobel Biocare and Straumann. Most implants will integrate, but ease of maintenance is a consideration.
