I'd imagine the loss of any parent a loss. I agree it is early days and it indeed does remain to be seen. I believe the nurture part of an upbringing to be the defining part of moulding a child though.

And? She was merely a vessel, and signed a waiver so will have no rights or say in his upbringing. He'll only become aware of who she is later on in life if he becomes curious about the circumstances of his birth. Yes you are right. Give an infant to a drug addicted man and woman. That =your man +woman and baby.
Give the same to loving,nurturing and guiding man/man or woman/woman.
Get back to me in 20 years and we will compare notes.

Oh yeah, you've no argument so put it to the worst case scenario to try and prove your point. Btw addiction comes in many forms, and doesn't stop a person being loving- in many cases an addicts love for their child/children has helped them turn their life around. If you want to "compare notes", at least come up with a fair comparison.

Found it really unsettling how everyone was happy clappy for a child to be denied the most important thing in his life - his mother.

There is no replacement for a mother. The two lads are pure selfish. I have personally denied myself having children due to a small risk of disease inheritance. They are not strong men.

Ridiculous statement. Selfish for wanting what the majority of couples in any kind of loving relationship want - a family. That is a very lucky little boy and has full support of wider family too. They are a great example of what parenthood should be.

Some kids are lucky. Some kids are unlucky. I am thankful I was lucky to be born with a mother and father. This kid is an unlucky kid.
