Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If Clare win and Limerick don’t lose then Clare are through.

If it’s scoring difference then Clare are more than likely out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,269 ✭✭✭threeball

You could also add that Clare only beat Waterford by one point whereas Limerick & Tipp hammered Waterford

Yes that too. I think head to head should take precedence over scoring difference. Too many factors affect scoring difference especially in a game like hurling where a 10% difference in how teams hurl on a given day could mean an additional 10pts for or against. Wins should definitely be 3 pts rather than 2.

With the new format, it is disheartening to think that alot of teams that have lost two games will still be in the Championship and could potentially win Liam McCarthy. Diluting the value of Championship games.

This format won’t last unless there’s a bit of tweaking done, the way results have gone this year has shown some glaring flaws. Needs to be three points for a win not two, I’d argue Galway deserve to go through more than Wexford who have only beaten Carlow! Hardly fair that teams train all winter to go out on scoring difference.

He will certainly get a suspension for that, but it will also egg on Clare.
Cork with the wind for the second half.

It wouldn't surprise me if Seamus Flanagan is the first change that limerick make

Jaysus, last person I expected that from is Gerry. He is such a calm man but looks like the pressure of the last few weeks have got to them.

Suspension incoming but if we go out it makes no difference. We also have two managers so makes no difference :)

Head to head can’t be applied when there’s more than two teams with the same points, a glaring flaw. In Leinster it basically came down to who hammered Carlow the most.

So the Clare joint-manager pushes over the Cork fella, and in the process the Cork player's hurl brushes the helmet of the Clare player. And the mentor is appealing for the red card. Hilarious.

In my view, RTÉ and Sky Sports need to review the TV coverage rights for the end of the round robins. Both the Leinster and now the Munster championship have two critical matches running at the same time and TV viewers can only see one.

Fantastic save bu Quaid and they go down the other end and fire a point over, game on now.

Edit , Callnan with a beautiful goal.

Clare FM were going ballistic saying Kearney should’ve got a red.

Soft yellow for Byrnes. In fairness to him, he's not that kind of hurler.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,704 ✭✭✭citykat

Yellow card for Morris. Jesus Sean, cool the jets!

Imagine Galway played a weakened team confident that Wexford will beat Kilkenny and thus knocking them out of the championship.

Looking beyond the province, a Leinster title would mean less to Galway than Wexford or Dublin. But Kilkenny out of the picture would be a huge boost.

    Oh dear.

Any indication that Sheedy has thrown up the world famous "Cork are losing so roll over and let Limerick win" hand gesture yet?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,558 ✭✭✭Stacksofwacks

There is no incentive for Limerick to win this match as long as Clare are winning

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,224 ✭✭✭✭RMAOK

I thought Kyle Hayes was taken off ages ago - he's been quiet in the second half

Himself and Joanne seem to have good rapport anytime he's on the panel.

Joanne is a million times better than Des Cahill

Results against Carlow ended up not making any difference, the table would have been the same if you took out all their games.

Quite a ****e end to the Munster series
RTE will go on now like its dramatic and enthralling

Incorrect. Had Galway ran up a score against Carlow they would still be in the championship

    Pathetic from limerick.
Rolling into a munster final like a lame horse.
Tipp will batter us in two weeks and the Liam Mac is coming home to nenagh now with galway gone.

As a Clare man, the have always been and will continue to be useless commentators. Used to be well known for not giving the score in the game until half time and then full time.

    Where is munster final??

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,704 ✭✭✭citykat

Limerick only average today. No real goal threat. Reliant on frees for scores. A lot of their bench got a run today and very few put their hand up.

I agree, Galway were tipps biggest threat but they're out on their own now. Bonner a big loss but the tipp forwards didn't even fire today and they destroyed limerick.

Is it Laois or Westmeath now for Cork and Dublin?
