Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A sending off is always liable to have a big effect on a match.

But the big counterpoint is that when Tipp went a man and 5 points down in semi final, they dug in, fought and took smart scores and then won.

If anything if I was a Tipp man, that semi win over Wexford would be real cause for celebration than today when watching the cup be lifted.

TJ didn't score from play in as many games as he did. He can hook and paw balls all he wants but no way is he at the same level as Shefflin. What a record for Callanan though. Unprecedented.

Ronan Maher hurler of the year.

Callanan swearing on national television :pac:

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. It's not fair that rte (or whoever) interviews lads on the pitch just after running themselves into the ground.

Asking Seamie about the red card on the field! Ffs

That's for later tonight for some analysts

Not one of the winning players..

Tipp are aging so difficult to see them win back to back in this format. Galway and Limerick would be my guess for next year.

Yeah don’t think Tipp will do back to back either but two All Irelands in four years, lost by a point to winners in other year, will definitely be up there as favourites betting wise.

Awful lot of talk about Limerick though for a team that won one All Ireland, people were acting this summer like they were Kilkenny from ten years ago.

They have a big squad and youth on their side but like KK they're short a bit of quality. I think they'll be in the shake up by virtue of their other qualities.
Galway and Tipp have been the most consistent teams of the last 5 to 6yrs. Normally one taking the other out.

Why? Are you forgetting 2008 when the final was over after 25 mins

Congrats to Tipp. A pity the game turned into a disappointing one side contest for all the neutrals watching.

Shefflin is a fool. Harsh on KK? Tipp went a man down against a good team and still won.

Kilkenny and Tipp even in the encounters 2009-2019.

2009 the roles were reversed. Shefflin and Kk have won more than enough.

Shefflin was never as man marked as he is. KK rely on him so much more than KK did with Shefflin. He had Carter, Brennan, Larkin along side him.

Jesus, not giving any credit to Tipps performance? That third quarter was incredible

It has turned out to be a hiding in the end. Concession of goals and inability to score goals the stand out difference. Congrats to Tipp. Challenge for Tipp is to do back to back all ireland victories.

The main questions for us is Hogan getting himself sent off and the persistence of high ball into the forwards when this ploy was clearly not working. With Hogan on the field the contest was neck in neck. If Cody does stay on it will be interesting to see does this end Hogan's inter county career.

I'm not going to criticize Cody. His record as Kilkenny manager is phenomenal. I don't think we expected to be contesting an AIF this year.

So Shefflin was never marked ever? It looked to me that Paudie Maher and Kennedy were mopping up every ball that came down on that half-back line. Henry would always conjure up something from play regardless.

Obviously Tipp were great doesn't mean it wasn't a shíte final. Thats what the football final is for.

There is no need to thank nearly everyone in tip in the speeches, should be saved for the homecomming speech,

Shefflin is a terrible loser. So obviously compromised in his analysis.

Will Sheedy go again next year? For some reason I get the whiff of he was going all in for one year and one year only

I always laugh at these thick country boys who scream into a microphone.

dont they realize that is why microphones were invented so you dont have to scream and shout

Adrenaline pumping and half deaf from crowd and roaring at players for 70 minutes of play. Hard to switch the vocal chords like a remote in the space of five minutes.

In fairness, it wasn't a great championship. Leinster was decent enough, but most of the Munster games were one sided. Semis were great as usual. Tipp were the most consistent team throughout, deserved winners

Where’s that genius on here that said Kilkenny would come back with a man down 😂. Agree with shefflin you have little chance against that tipp team without full content of players . Up the decies lol.
