    Hi Richersounds Team,

I'm in the market for a new smart TV and drawn towards the Bravia only because our current Bravia is 10 years old and still going strong. I'm looking for an updated Smart TV 49' size mark. I like the KD49XF8096 and KD49XF8505 and in your site comparisons tool I see the only major difference is that the latter is 100HZ, is the extra 50Hz worth it the additional £70?  What about the Samgsung UE49NU8000 or LG 49SK8100PLA, do those that tick as many boxes as the Bravia's in your opinion?  Would love to know what you think.

Also looking at getting a sound bar system, what's your recommendation here and best bang for buck (Sony HTCT290 or cheaper better one out there?).

    Many thanks,

    Colin

    Hi Colin,

Apologies for the delay getting back to you!

I would definitely stick with the Sonys, I do prefer their panels for colour and contrast.

The upgrade in motion processing is definitely worth the extra especially if you watch a lot of sports or movies. While you'll never fully eliminate motion blur in an LED  TV it's less noticeable on panning or fast moving scenes with the 8505.

For a soundbar, the HTCT290 is very good but if I were to recommend one purely for sound quality I would go for the Yamaha YAS207 at £249. It is a What HiFi award winner and sounds incredible.

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David
