New Trilogy (Benihoff and Weiss)

    A rumour has emerged on Star Wars News Net for the new trilogy being made by Benihoff and Weiss (Game of Thrones).
    Our source told us they were:

    “…approached about working on the next movie this Autumn. It is not the Rian Johnson trilogy, it is the Game of Thrones guys’ first movie, and it is set during the Old Republic, as Disney wants to open up the Star Wars timeline and appeal to a more ‘Game of Thrones‘ style audience.”

    Supposedly they're a reliable source.

    What would folks make of that?

    I'd have a meltdown if they were to make a Revan trilogy. It'd be both a safe subject with a fairly straightforward arc, it has a more or less fully written story (that could probably do with some rewrites, particularly for the final act).

    I'd also welcome a Darth Bane trilogy. The books by Drew Karpyshyn are very good.
