Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hopefully that is the case that the Guards were called - there is no way they would dismissed it as nothing but that conclusion would suit the travellers - they wouldn't admit they had done something wrong.

    They would be getting a carer's allowance for minding the poor woman and she would be getting a disability allowance which they probably have their mits on as well to afford the big screen tv on welfare.

    Its a sad state of affairs - we can only hope the authorities are now on notice - but probably nothing will happen

    The kid in red has a real knacker bounce.

    Years ago there was a group of travelers living on the roadside a few miles from where I lived. I had to pass them once a week to visit my parents. This day as I approached, two women were beating the living daylights out of each other. Their menfolk were sitting around on bales of hay eating sandwiches and drinking mugs of tea and cheering them on. I drove by as quickly as I could and rang the Garda from my folks. I don’t think that they did anything.

    Actually no Charles there is a higher incidence amongst those that certain individuals here defend constantly trying to scam the system. Thankfully the judges are beginning to call halt. Instead of defending your brethren why not encourage them get jobs and become responsible members of society and contribute instead of the constant take. Novel I know, but you never know they might like to be useful.

    Given the crime statistics, how can you still be so naive? Although in fairness, staging a car accident is marginally better than terrorising old people in the countryside.

    I read the paper every day most of the cases of insurance scammers I read about are settled Irish people or non Nationals.
    It's just just certain people's agenda to bash Travelers.
    Each traveler is an individual and should be treated as such.
    Few bad a eggs ruin it for the good guys

    The causes are they going around attacking and robbing isolated elderly people and getting caught among other crimes. We have a generous social welfare system in Ireland for people out of work. No one HAS to go out robbing or committing any other crime. They do it because it is a way of life to them.
