So, the Passport Office supplied you with a label, but did you just put the envelope in a post box, or did you hand it over the counter at the post office? I would assume you'd have to do the latter, but I could be wrong

Just put it in the letterbox. Says that's perfectly fine to do, once it goes through the an post network. Anyway, seems this isn't passport related but an post related, so I'll take it up with them! Thanks for the replies

Do it online you won’t need to send in the old one, if your not great with uploading photos etc most Tesco have a photo machine that is linked to the passport office, it takes the pic prints out a code and when your doing the online bit you put in the code and your pic pops up. It’s very easy and you should have your new passport in about a week (I got mine in 24hrs last year).

Im due to fly with both Ryanair and Aer Lingus within EU soon but between the time of booking flights I've had to replace my passport. I got both the book and card. I take it there is no issue with either airline accepting the card nowadays when checking in?

    Nope.

I think Aer Lingus make you check in at the airport with the card as their online system will not accept it. Ryanair accept it online with no issues.
