Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Duffy looking dangerous in the box for these set-pieces. He's in good goalscoring form so I can see him getting one today.

    Feck were struggling here

    A goal would be welcome

It'll be alright. They'll have the wind in the second half.

11 men behind the ball in fairness. Max of one player in the Irish half.

He’s not good enough for International Football. Michael Duffy is better than James McClean though

    Jaysus thats bizarre.

    What’s bizarre about it?
Duffy is a better all round footballer than McClean.

Hoban isn’t up to International level, he’s too slow and isn’t skillful enough

Jayus lads relax. The wind is a big issue here.

The wind is the main issue here, lads. Once we get the first I reckon the flood gates will open.

They get a nice weekend in Gibraltar into the deal. It's not the worst way to spend an afternoon. I wouldn't mind being there.

Wishful thinking. Our strikers probably aren’t much better than theirs...

Coleman muscled off it a few minutes ago and now that ...

They are already sitting back. The 2nd half will be different. Hooefully we score before that though but if we dont i wouldnt be panicking.

    Gibraltar is a kip though.

Maybe if you go to Tarifa down the road but definitely not Gibraltar.

I'm fairly sure they have a bit more talent than a few Gibraltan postmen..

My auld fella was giving out saying the British could have a whole group to themselves. (He actually said England not British, they are the same as far as he is concerned.) ;)

    England
    Wales
    Northern Ireland
    Scotland
    Gibraltar

Says he, four teams is not enough for them now they have five! :D

And still fûcking around with it in 2nd gear, no plan B, no pace, no imagination or incisiveness or creativity, no bravery or leadership. More Phoenix Park gibberish.

Some mad comments in here already.

It took 26mins to score against this lot last time around, we went in 1-0 up at HT and came out 4-0 winners.

Expect much the same here today.

It is to be expected really. The idiots usually come out of the woodwork very quickly.

Wouldn't read too much into the performance yet.

We're on top, few bad decisions, we'll get a goal and then settle.

Pitch is crap, wind is awful, it'll happen

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

Wind is an issue but players should be able to make 10 yard passes on the ground without over hitting them and not not being able to control them.

Plenty of time left, probably take the players the half to get going.

It's people who know this is a new campaign with a new manager and know to give it time. Showing a lot more impetitious then the last number of times.

Seriously that is rubbish. Mostly premiership/championship level professional footballers out there.

Problem is conditions and Gibraltar playing with everyone back.

Patience is required and once goal is scored then it will open up. Fitness levels will eventually tell as well.

It's a strange one if so seeing as he travelled but I've seen a few rumblings alright.

    Delaney stepping down?

We've very little in midfield and Doherty hasn't offered much so far.

But the same collection of experienced professional players, playing against an ameteur team whom after 33 minutes have raised one shot on goal, while for the rest of the game have been fanning about in midfield, giving it away constantly....

Doherty is playing a lot of passes where he'd maybe be expecting a Wolves player to be.

Clearly something very dirty has gone on if he does step down. A full investigation will be needed by Sport Ireland if that is the case. The CEO stepping down and sweeping it under the rug isn't good enough. He isn't the only gangster in the FAI.

100% there are a few who need to follow him. Hopefully Fran Gavin is next. Spoofer of the highest order.

Is Delaney over to loan Gibraltar a few bob for a new supplier for putting names on the jerseys?

Hourihane's deliveries have been a positive. Strikers not doing the business so far.
