I really despise threads on here when teachers are complaining about their pay and quote net pay rather than gross pay.

Why? The long list of deductions means gross pay is pretty much irrelevant. My wife earns a good bit less than I do gross pay but we come out we pretty much the same.

Well, net pay is what you actually receive. And banks only care about your gross salary for a mortgage.

What's wrongwith a trainee mechanic Bobtheman. You've probably got the issue if you're staring at young teachers arses all day.
Issue was, you're not paid as a professional, so casual wear (not tracksuit yes I agree) / smart casual is more than acceptable.

It's not what you are told you will be paid when a job is advertised.

Really ? Though to be fair Playboy is quite mild with what's out there now. I remember when it was banned !

Playboy is quite mild! The guy was promoting pedophillia in the 70's and owned a brothel who's sole purpose was for the subjugation of drugged women to service men. It's the same as if a male teacher went into school wearing a Pornhub jacket.

I don't know what it's advertised as, because most people are glad to have an 11 hour split contract.

And I see now they are going over to the UAE to try and get people to return? ****ing idiots, a cash cow course of 2 years for a univerity, even the HDip was. It was and is a joke.

It's a meme now apparently so maybe there's truth in there somewhere.

All men stare at women's arses from time to time unless castrated!
Nothing wrong with a trainee mechanic-never said there was. Different clothes for different jobs
Of course quality of teaching is not determined by what you wear but you wonder if you cant be arsed making an effort in dress appropriately what effort do you make in a classroom?

If you expect neat dress from kids then you should expect it from teachers
As for Playboy-going in a bit heavy there. I doubt the teacher knew the history. Though I never heard your version.

Problem with H-dip is and always was is ,that most teachers struggle with discipline first few years. They really dont need half the **** they are taught. They are just about surviving.
Then they arrive in schools where lip service(quite rightly) is paid to a lot of the nonsense peddled by universities/politicians and they forget even more.

If the department believed in the **** they are peddling then they would pay subject heads and give them authority. Most people avoid that job unless they want to get promoted.

What is "the issue" and dont be projecting. Some of us teach-dont have the time to do it all day. Do you?!

Getting back to the topic, for ladies. Is it skirt and top, dress or pants and top. Are nice bootcut jeans and a nice blouse a no no?

Rule of thumb in many schools seems to be that black/very dark jeans are okay, best avoid the good ol' workman's blues.
