    Well done X

wow I am so shocked, didn't see this coming...

Proof you don't need talent to win a talent show.

Enjoyed the series but an appropriate winner for the standard that was in it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

Must have got the judges from Katie Taylor's fight to vote

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,256 ✭✭✭✭km79

    Maybe it is Brexits fault
    Forcing all our talent out
    Taking all our fun

    :D

Must say that was a pisspoor series .

I may or may not have said a bad word when he won. Seems a nice character but...

    Was hoping X would win.

Congrats Colin on winning Brexit got Talent.

I think the focus has moved away from talent to just having a story. Like the guy with the brother with locked in syndrome, he would never have reached the final if he didn’t have a story.

This is what happens when you teach pensioners how to use a smartphone

So kind giving a donation to Chelsea pensioners homes. Glad he won now.

Yes, very true.....that guy was average and a charisma free zone

He won't be out of place if he's still around for the Royal Variety

I was glad he got no further. I thought he was average at best.

Not much of a personality for a singer / entertainer either.....I don't think he would have got anywhere near the semis but for his back story

So kind giving a donation to Chelsea pensioners homes. Glad he won now.

I would assume some of them performed with him tonight ...........so it’s not a donation as much as a share of the prize money

    Maybe I’m being too harsh

Listening to after show. I think it's the royal hospital hes giving it to. Amanda hinted it was all of it.

What a mixed final that was.
I thought the male comedian kojo was absolutely awful.
The kids dancing about sainsburys rip off...awful.
Magic dog nope...but glad their was some legislation brought in.
    Poundshop Victoria wood was disappointing.
    Dancing kids...nope.
The X thing was fantastic, I also really enjoyed the card shrinking guy.
    4MG their tricks were basic.
I thought the stunt man in the box with the earth was surprisingly excellent as was the West end singer.
The old war vet singing....no...sorry predictable and dull such a poor winner. At least the magician army officer who won was decent at what he did.

Diversity outstanding bar the sideshow bob hair do :)
Also Simon Cowell is also genuinely destroying my love of the greatest showman

Anyone watching the after show ? . If so wtf is up with Louis Walsh????

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,281 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

Thought X and Ben were great all along and wanted one of them to win.
The X reveal really blew my mind.

Good luck to Colin though, seems like a nice man and at his age fair play to him.

Is it his behaviour or his appearance?

Enjoyed the show. The Dave and Finn act definitely the weakest. They were there purely to present the back-story. Enjoyed the primary school kids, but felt there was something odd about the way the teacher presented himself, by joining in with them. It appears to me he is a bit of an attention seeker. Loved Liddy and Charlie dancing. they were my faves to win. Also liked X and the other magician. I blame Brexit for the patriotic vote for Colin. Granted, for his age, he performed very well. In fairness to him, he had no idea he would end up winning.

The BGT Champions will be a remix of the AGT version. Already Susan Boyle and Paul Potts have performed on that. Simon Cowel was chief Judge of AGT the Champions, so we can expect a rehash of the AGT version. Admittedly the AGT version was very enjoyable.

Would have loved X to win. But now it seems colin is giving massive donation to royal hospital so that's fair enough. Am delighted that finns law has been passed to protect dogs who are protecting humans. So all in all I really enjoyed BGT this year.

My least favorite things in these shows are the Danger performances. I had fast forwarded on your man's performance in the semi finals.

Missed it yestersat as I was doing the Vhi 10k (a walk and a chat), so how was my mate Siobhan? Must have a look now for her routine.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,111 ✭✭✭SirChenjin

She was as unfunny as ever.

Just watched it there just to torture myself.

    Yep, you were right.

The piano "playing" is particularly horrific.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,480 ✭✭✭Vicarious Function

Well done, Siobhan, for getting as far as you did! Seems some people appreciated you despite your having no professional training and obviously having been self-taught as far as playing the piano goes. You've had the courage to get up on stage and express yourself. Not many of us could do that. A lot of people have shown their appreciation of you by voting for you in order to get you to the final. As Simon says this show sometimes is "more about the people than the talent".

They should rename the show to Britains Got People Who Want To Perform , if the acts don't have to be talented .

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,480 ✭✭✭Vicarious Function

The results are based on the Public's vote. (Stating the obvious!) Getting up and performing can be a talent in itself. If people then vote for you, there must be something in your performance that they appreciate.

    Ha too true Skipper !!

If the backstories weren't told , I wonder how many would have gotten through ?
Apart from X , who got through on his own merits if fairness .

You could just tell they weren't spoilt or precocious. Charlie is from Manchester and Libby is from Liverpool and they are just two ordinary kids who love dancing and are not in it for the fame

They were lovely youngsters , loving what they do . Brilliant dancers , you'd love to see them do well for themselves as they get older .

In a way, it was no bad thing that they didn't win. It allows them to get on with their dancing and being two normal kids......winning the thing and £250k would be too much of a distraction

Now I know it's great he gave it to charity and all that but I always feel sorry for the acts who could have badly needed the money starting off in life/with kids/etc.

Surprised Libby and Charlie scored so low in the Final. I imagine the Primary School benefited from numbers, which would have included Family, Friends, (of each individual) Rest of the School, Town, Parish etc.

I would have had them and Jonathan Goodwin (the escapologist) much higher.

The top 2 was probably predictable enough.
