I watched it last night. The standard is so much higher than Ireland's got talent. The one thing that confused me was Alesha wearing mismatched earrings.(One of them was massive).

I genuinely thought she was wearing one of those triangle musical instruments!

Ahhhhhhalways remember whatever child had no musical ability or rhythm was always given the triangle to do a “dong” at the end of a song while the rest of us blasted away on those dreaded recorders.

What stood out for me as regards BGT is the huge budget they seem to have compared to Ireland.

I didn't think it was a particularly strong show talent wise. The first dance group were technically good and they executed it well but I am just so bored of dance acts, it didn't have anything truly memorable about it. The opera singer again was good but not great. Kids act was just a sensory overload performance, did nothing for me. The thing under the stage was total garbage, Ooooh this journal is 100 years old hand written with a freshly minted biro. The acrobat guys were the best, that was deadly looking.

All fair points but still well ahead of the talent and far more variation than what was on display for the Ireland's Got Talent final

Ireland's Got Talent started off well with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. It started to go downhill when it became clear through the public vote that we were going to be left with nothing but dance groups in the end.
Britain's Got Talent is working from a much larger budget and demographic than Ireland. I find their show much more contrived.

I take it that was because she auditioned ten years ago!

Hand farting in tune is quite a talent.

Can we have a "do not try this at home"

The whole feel of BGT had changed this year . What is this new fawning over rubbish acts from the judges ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,748 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

    I agree with Simon Cowell.

Probably the golden buzzer given the time.

    I don't particularly like comedians .

Alisha a bit heavy with the canned laughter

  • Registered Users Posts: 30,506 ✭✭✭✭freshpopcorn

Is this guy rather poor or is it just me?

I didn't think he was very entertaining. The judges standing up for him ...
    I'm puzzled.

    Great call Robert .

I didn't think he was anything to write home about tbh .

The start was really really bad.

It was much better as it went on, but not golden buzzer quality.

Some years David pressed the Golden Buzzar for fun and sometimes it was because somebody had a tad of a sob story but he was only mediocre.

I think he already pushed his golden buzzer this year for the dancing kids (which was a rip off of the sainsburys Xmas advert)
    Very mediocre.

    Yes he did.
I don't know did I word my post correctly.
I was trying to say I got the soppy appeal, the real bad person, etc
However I could see no real reason to press it for that guy.

    I totally understand.

    That comedian was really poor.
I don't even think Simon Cowell laughed that much, odd.
