Deposit then regular savings

    Hello all,

    Just wondering what would be the best savings account to start with say €5K and then regularly save approx €300 a month thereafter?

    Hi,

    Have a look at the thread below and see if the KBC offering meets your needs (u need to have your current a/c with them to get the best rates).

    KBC allow an initial lump sum of up to €10k into their regular saver.

    While the KBC rate is good, I have one, the rate has been dropping over the years. As 1dave123 says, you need to have the Extra Current account for the best rate. That needs €2,500 a month going into it to receive the benefits. You do get a bonus for having a regular current account with them.

    Regular account:
    As an optional extra with your KBC Current Account, you can get a 1% bonus on top of the current KBC Regular Saver rate of 0.35% (0.35% AER). That’s a 1.35% AER variable to help you save for something special. This Offer continues until further notice. We will provide 30 days prior notice of the withdrawal of this offer.

    Please note: The bonus rate of 1.00% (AER) on the Regular Saver will be amended to a 0.75% (AER) bonus rate, effective on the 29th May 2019.

    Extra Current Account:
    2.07% (2.10% AER Variable) on your KBC Extra Regular Saver Account.

    That's including a bonus of 1.75% instead of the above 1%. But like the above, it's being reduced again.

    Please note: The bonus rate of 1.75% (AER) on the Extra Regular Saver will be amended to a 1.50% (AER) bonus rate, effective on the 29th May 2019.
