    Hi all
we live at the back of our estate which is at the bottom of a hill and there are trees, gorse, scrub land basically running the 100m-200m to the top of the hill where there are houses. It is pretty overrun but there obviously are paths in there as from time to time you'd hear teenage voices in there. Anyway, in the past few weeks some group(s) have decided to start lighting fires and they have spread a bit. The fire brigade has been here twice in the past week. We aren't sure where exactly they come in to this area from but obviously we are concerned that one of these fires will get seriously out of hand if the upcoming summer has a drought like last year. The guards are aware of this but we are looking to contact someone in the Cork County Council to help tackle this. We assume this land is the councils.
If anyone can point me in the right direction or department it would be gratefully appreciated.
    Thanks

    Fire Brigade for fire issues.

Housing Department for anti-social behaviour. Talk to them also if you don't know which department owns the land - they should be able to point you int eh right direction.

You can check the land ownership on https://www.landdirect.ie/ although the land may be unregistered.

Ask that the gorse be cut back where it is immediately adjacent to buildings.

Your local city or county councillors should be your first call: their job is to help you find the right people in the council.
