With the first pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select, Defensive Tackle, Quinnen "The Bandit" Williams, Alabama.

    61XnIxTaetL._SX425_.jpg

    usa_today_11725990.0.jpg

Cardinals defy the commonly accepted choice of new Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury and his declared interest in Kyler Murray and blow the 2019 Boards NFL draft wide open.

Williams the consensus best player available in the draft is selected No. 1 overall ahead of Nick Bosa of Ohio State and fast rising Ed Oliver of Houston who was considered for this pick.

Arizona Cardinals need help everywhere and in picking Quinnen Williams they select the most dominant lineman in the FBS for 2018. He single handedly wrecked the Offensive lines of the SEC during the the 2018 season and finished up earning finalist honors for the Bronko Nagurski and Bednarik Awards and the Outland Trophy.

Given the depth of the Bama defensive line Williams redshirted in 2016 behind Redskins draft picks Jonathon Allen and Da'ron Payne. In 2017 he played in 14 games with 20 tackles, 6.5 for loss and two sacks whilst being a strictly rotational player. In 2018 he truly came into his own and produced huge numbers from DT where he attracted double blocking allowing his exterior linemen to get at the quarterback and finished with numbers of 70 tackles, 18.5 for loss and seven sacks and a safety. Given the level of attention he attracted these numbers are startling.

His hands feet and overall movement should allow him to make instant wins at the point of impact and make him and instant starter in the NFL. His ability to use blockers momentum against them allows him to win at the point, redirect his opponent and accelerate through to apply pressure on the quarterback early. His ability to look through his blocker and use his eyes to diagnose the play calls allows him to read plays early and be effective in both the run and passing game.

His main downside is his lack of length which could count against him when measured against NFL guards. He also lacks size and his frame may not carry the necessary weight needed to deal with double teams in the NFL and he lacks the thickness across his chest and shoulders whihc means he needs to use leverage as his strength is average by NFL standards.

With the second pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select Nick Bosa, Edge, Ohio State.

    san_francisco_49ers_2005-2008_w.png

    7910263.jpg

With an installed starter at QB in Jimmy Garoppolo, the 49ers continue a recent tradition of picking a defensive lineman in the first round of the draft.

Selecting Bosa gives the 49ers the opportunity to build an incredible defensive front, pairing the rookie with DeForest Buckner and the newly acquired Dee Ford. According to Football Outsiders, SF were in the middle of the pack concerning QB pressures and Solomon Thomas has not had the impact you'd expect from a third overall pick. Bosa should go a long way to address this.

The obvious red flag concerns his abdominal injury in 2018 that caused him to sit out most of this final college season.

With the 3rd pick of the 2019 boards.ie mock draft, the New York Jets select Josn Allen (DE/LB) from Kentucky.

The board hasn't really fallen our way here, as we had assumed either Bosa or Williams would be available at 3, but hey ho.

    loQ7LSH.jpg

    Z4kQtJK.png

Allen recorded a massive 17 sacks as a senior for Kentucky, and solidified himself as a top-five prospect in this draft. He is a true speed rusher off the edge that can present a nightmare for opponents if the proper attention is not paid to him. While his ability as a rusher is what makes him such a highly regarded prospect, Allen can also drop back in coverage for whatever team selects him. His skill set makes him look like a mix of Anthony Barr and Khalil Mack. He is not quite as good in coverage as Barr, nor as good of a rusher as Mack (few are), but may have enough of both to excel at the next level.

With the fourth pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select, QB, Kyler Murray, Oklahoma.

    urn-publicid-ap-org-1d03234071be42f38354b0f72ee7f40bT25_Generation_Z_QBs_Football_83382-780x556.jpg

Gruden and Mayock jump at the chance to add a new franchise QB. Rebuild is on in Oakland and the Raiders look to follow the template set out by the Rams, Seahawks et al, cheap QB on rookie wage scale and upgrade the team around them. Murray the Heisman winner is a unique athlete and will be given every chance to succeed throwing to one of the best WR's in the game Antonio Brown.

Incumbenent Raiders QB Carr started off very brightly in Oakland but is 10-21 since his leg break and just hasn't looked the same player. He’s not quite a franchise quarterback right now, but he’s still slightly better than a caretaker/game manager. The problem is he’s got four years and $86 million of cap hits remaining on his contract — numbers that paint him as a top-10 quarterback when he’s barely sneaking into the top 20. Drafting Murray is a chance to start fresh for the new regime. Murray was the most dynamic player in college football last year and could finally spark this Raiders into life along with big off-season WR acquisitions in Brown,Tyrell Williams and JJ Nelson offering a massively improved deep threat. Murray has been nothing if not a big-play threat, he averaged an efficient 11.6 yards per pass last season and an impressive 16.8 yards per completion.

With the 5th pick in the NFL mock draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers draft

    red-applied-icon-wall-decals-nfop3001-64_1000.jpg

    Monteze Sweat, OLB, Mississippi State

    usa_today_10360289.0.jpg
The run on defense continues and the Bucs add some needed pass rush talent in a division with Brees, Newton and Ryan

College production in both sacks and tackles for loss compare well to last years 5th pick Bradley Chubb

6 ‘ 6” 260lbs and ran a beastly 4.61 40 time. There are running backs who don’t run that. Got a lot of attention destroying a lineman in senior bowl practice and he has shone in this pre draft process. However he is not just a workout warrior and had double digit sacks and tackles for loss his last two years in college

The Bucs are moving to a 3-4 and Sweat will play OLB. With other talent up front such as Gerald McCoy and JPP this addition will help both pass rush and run defense. The Bucs ranked joint 19th last season in sacks and this should be improved upon

With the 6th pick in the draft the New York Giants select

    Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State

As rudderless as the Giants front office has appeared this offseason, and as many needs as they have created for themselves in addition to the ones already there, the writing is very much on the wall for Eli. With Haskins falling to them in the draft, though they may be tempted to trade down or go elsewhere, they need to take the opportunity for a franchise QB of the future while they have one. I've watched Ohio State a good bit this season, and Haskins seems to me to be a fantastic pocket QB, a strong arm and an accurate passer. Not really much good at escaping the pocket much less running, and still a bit error prone, but he has a bright future. And now, so do the G-Men.

With the seventh pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select, Jawaan Taylor, Offensive Tackle, Florida.

    Jaguar_c_JonathanTruong.jpg

    JTaylor1.0.gif

Jacksonville paid a large sum to Nick Foles this off-season but there is no point investing so much in a quarterback if they give up another 50 sacks this season. I'm not placing that all on the offensive line but they've got to give Foles time to work his magic. Taylor should start on the right side of the line from Week 1 and could help Fournette out in the run game too. I'll admit offensive line is hardly the sexiest pick but their offence needs to become an above average one if they are going to take advantage of their great defence. One way to do that is to make sure they're quarterback isn't getting sacked 3.5 times a game.

With the 8th pick in the 2019 NFL draft, the Detroit Lions select:

    GREEDY WILLIAMS, CB, LSU

Some may consider this a slight reach, but Lions plug a huge gap by selecting the best cover corner back in the draft. Greedy is an athletic freak standing at 6 2, but also running a 4.37 proving he will have no problem with matching up with the biggest receivers in the NFL.

He needs to bulk up and work on his tackling form, but is a Day 1 starter for me which is what you are looking for with a Top 10 pick.

The Buffalo Bills and Big pussy bonpensiero are now on the clock.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,778 ✭✭✭Big Pussy Bonpensiero

The Bills have a lot of needs in this draft. In the 2018 season their defence was deceptively good, let down badly by a very poor offence. Despite that, they still need key defensive pieces, none more so than at DT with the retirement of Kyle Williams. However, their first round pick will surely address their offensive flaws. They desperately need a #1 receiver, either at TE or WR, but with a young, shiny new quarterback OL is logical place to spend the #9 overall pick.
    That being said...

With the ninth pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills select Jonah Williams, OT, Alabama.

    maxresdefault.jpg

With Jawaan Taylor off the board the next OL pick should be relatively straight-forward. Jonah Williams, at 6'5'', 300lbs is a highly polished linesman. He excelled in both pass-protection and in the run-game during his time at Alabama. He will be an instant starter in most important OL position for a right-handed QB, and should turn out to be long-term solution to an immediate problem.

Some of his main pros & cons:

    Pros:
    • rarely strays from his technique
    • powerful and athletic
    • high-football IQ
    • versatile
    • no red flags

    Cons:
    • arm length

With the 10th pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select, Devin White, Linebacker, LSU Tigers.
    DEN.svg

    usa_today_11435629.0.jpg

John Elway has proven himself to be as bad an evaluator of QBs as he was good at playing the position. The Broncos simply shouldn't head into 2019 with 'entering his prime' Joe Flacco as their QB, but as trade ups aren't available here to grab one of the top guys, they look to further strengthen their defense. With Fangio taking over as coach he will be looking for that ILB to build his defense around, in the mold of Patrick Willis with the 49ers and Roquon Smith with the Bears, and he gets his man in Devin Smith.

Though the ILB isn't normally deemed to be of high positional value, the Bears did take Smith at #8 last year and there is a bigger drop off in talent this year once you get past the Devins. Noted by some (including Fangio in a likely smokescreen) as a rawer prospect than Smith, being a late convert to the position, White appears to be a better athlete and possibly has the higher ceiling of the two. He however isn't just potential, winning the Butkus Award this year as the top linebacker in the country, he will make a day 1 impact, against the run, in coverage, and blitzing (if Miller and Chubb wasn't enough to worry about).

With the 11th pick of the 2019 boards.ie mock draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select Drew Lock (QB) from Missouri
    [Removed Image]
    [Removed Image]

The Bengals drafting a quarterback wouldn’t be much of a surprise after team owner Mike Brown said at the NFL owners meeting that he would not consider extending quarterback Andy Dalton’s contract (which runs through 2020) before this season do they pick Drew Lock.

Lock’s effortless ability to challenge defenses deep and natural arm talent are promising tools to work with, but his mental attributes and struggles under pressure may be barriers to him fully reaching his ceiling. In a situation where he can sit for a year or 2 behind a veteran QB, Lock can be an adequate starter in the league

For Lock, it’s a matter of taste. Lock is a gunslinging QB who could easily become the next great quarterback or the next Jay Cutler. Some have suggested that his willingness to throw the ball where it should not be thrown will be his downfall while others insist that he could be as much Brett Favre as Cutler.

Lock makes mistakes and there is no question about that. He is smart but also has a bit of an ego according to some in NFL circles. Not necessarily in a bad way. His teammates reportedly love playing with him and he has a lot of leadership qualities. Many recent mocks have him going to the Broncos in round one.

With the 12th pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select T.J. Hockenson, TE, Iowa Hawkeyes.

    usa_today_11387681.0.jpg

A new era, in Green Bay with a new head coach, why not give Aaron Rogers a new weapon? Whilst you could go defensive here or perhaps go for a wide receiver, with Jimmy Graham not pulling up any trees in Green Bay and also being 32, it perhaps time for Green Bay to perhaps look to to the future and draft TJ Hockenson.

Whilst historically a slight reach to take a tight-end at number 12, TJ Hockensen is more than worth it. At 6’4” and 251lbs, Hockenson is a tough physical tight end who also only dropped one pass on 51 targets in 2018, getting 9 touchdowns also. He can run great routes that can be the envy of many a good wide receiver and makes a lot of yards in runs after the catch which will make him a match-up nightmare. One possible weakness is that he doesn’t possess long speed to burn defenders but he has a lot of the traits to become a force at tight end for years to come in the NFL.

dolphins select qb Daniel Jones to sit a season behind Fitz magic. Jones is at present probably whats considered the safest qb style wise, doesnt run unless he needs to, makes his throws, doesnt make dumb decisions with the ball, coachable. Dolphins could have another Dalton on their hands but they take a gamble and hope that sitting him will train him up to where he needs to be.

With the 14th pick of the 2019 Boards.ie Mock Draft, the Atlanta Falcons select

    Ed Oliver-Defensive Tackle-Houston

    oliverusa.jpg?itok=ZqfGLwnC

I feel the Falcons are in a position here where they can both go with the best player available whilst also addressing one of their biggest needs.

Oliver seems like the perfect fit to slot in beside Grady Jarrett in Dan Quinns 4-3 defense. Scouts have described Oliver as an elite athlete in every sense of the word—explosive off the snap, incredibly quick with his feet, and downright dominant with his physicality.

Oliver has come in for some criticism for his lack of pass rushing prowess, especially considering some of the competition he was going up against. But looking a little closer at the tape, it shows he was used as a nose tackle quite a lot, and when he was asked to move outside of the 0 tech position he was far more productive as a pass rusher. Oliver's size has also been a constant talking point when it comes to his cons

With the 15th pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins select, Brian Burns, Edge, FSU Seminoles.
    washington-redskins-png-transparent-images-all-167121.png

    usatsi_11213695.jpg?w=1000&h=600&crop=1

In many ways the Redskins front office would have nightmares about the draft turning out this way. They badly need cheap rookie help at QB and with 4 off the board, along with their path to trading for Rosen gone, it would be way too much of a stretch to pick another QB here. Their offense in general needs help, however at WR I just don't have faith that Metcalf will not be another athletic 1st round WR bust, especially if put in a situation with lots of QB questions, and the group is strong enough that a good WR should fall to them in the 2nd. Fant is also tempting at TE, he is too similar to Reed and Davis, Hockenson would have been the guy they wanted to fall. Turning to defensive options, Gary is still on the board, but I have nightmares about super athletic 'tweener' DLs after Solomon Thomas and when you add the Redskins going interior DL in the 1st round the last two drafts, they decide to go for an Edge guy in 2019, replacing and upgrading the loss of Preston Smith.

The concerns about Burns going into the combine were his weight, many feared he would either be in the 230lbs range or else weigh heavier and severely impact his testing. He proved his doubters wrong, weighing in at 249lbs and blowing up testing, running a 4.53 in the 40 yard dash (the third best among EDGE rushers), finishing in the top six in the vertical jump, the top five in the three cone drill, along with having the second best broad jump result at 129 inches.

Burns is not just an athletic freak, he is already very technically sound while showing improvement every year, has high work ethic, excellent motor, very coachable, and his enormous length is a talent in itself. This combination led to him being very productive in college, racking up the most pressures of any Power-5 defender in the country last year with 69. He wasn't asked to drop into coverage often, but his profile means he should be able to coached up here.

Until he takes the field in the NFL, concerns will still persist about his playing weight and the potential to be overpowered but he is one of the best Edge prospects and would likely be long gone by this pick in another class, one not so incredibly talent filled at Edge. The nightmare draft board mightn't turn out so bad for the Redskins after all.

Round 1, pick No. 16: Clelin Ferrell, DE, Clemson

    clelin-ferrell-clemson.jpg

With the retirement of Julius Peppers, an edge rusher was always an obvious need for Carolina and Clelin Ferrell for me would be decent fit for the Panthers. While you could go with offensive line help and go for Andre Dillard as Cam had to run a lot last year, but the signing of the Guard Paridis in free agency, eases that problem a little. I think it’s better to go and just replace Peppers with an instant starter in Ferrell. Rashad Gray is a surprise to still be available, I just think that his production doesn’t match his freakish size and Ferrell is a safer bet for now.

Coming out of an excellent defensive line with Clemson last year with fellow prospects, Christian Wilkins and Dexter Lawrence, Ferrell outshone them. Whilst, Ferrell isn’t a dynamic, bendy athlete for the position, he has fantastic power. Recovering from a torn ACL as a senior in high school, Ferrell put in a excellent 3-year record at Clemson and is only used to winning, after having a decorated record for the Tigers. At 6 foot 4 and 264 pounds, he has an explosive first step and can beat tackles with his power and strength. There are concerns about his flexibilty, he has the athleticism to regularly turn the corner on offensive tackles. He didn’t run in the combine due to a toe injury, so it’s unclear how exactly he matches up to the other prospects in the speed aspect, but the tape looks very impressive.

With the seventeenth pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select, Defensive end, Rashaan Gary, Michigan.

    purple-applied-icon-wall-decals-nfop1901-64_1000.jpg

    Rashan-Gary.jpg

Vikings get an absolute steal and select Rashaan Gary in the mid first. HIs numbers are not startling but he has a huge upside. His production and body of work didn’t match the hype with eight pass-rushers in the 2019 NFL Draft class had more sacks in 2018 than Gary had his entire career (10.5). However he is poster prospect for the ‘traits over production’ scouting motto with his freakish athletic skill and overall upside.

Having injured his shoulder prior to the 2018 season he missed three games with the injury but still managed to make 44 tackles, including seven for loss, with 3.5 sacks in nine games he featured in. However when you review his numbers in 2017 where he earned all Big 10 honors with 66 tackles, 12 for loss, and six sacks in 13 starts. His best game came against Ohio state in 2017 with 10 combined tackles including 3 for loss and 2 sacks on JT Barrett.

He has the size and frame for the NFL and the tools to set the edge who's forceful at the point of contact. However he is let down by poor footwork with his rushes at a very basic level and his long arm bull rush being his only real pass rush move.

There are similarities to Taco Charlton who was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys and who to date looks like a bust, but in a buyer beware market Gary has much better traits then Charlton ever did.

    Christian Wilkins, Defensive Tackle, Clemson

Clemson teammate Clelin Ferrell already taken at 16 and now the Titans take Wilkins

The Titans were 17th in the league for rushing yards but very stingy with 4th best in the league for rushing TD's allowed. We can always improve of course and defensive line is an area where rotation is important

6' 3" 315 he will be a force in rushing defense and he does more too. Over his college career he made 192 tackles with 40.5 of those for a loss, 16 sacks, 15 passes defensed, four fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. His senior year was his strongest yet and he was on a national championship winning side so this is top level football

With the 20th pick in the draft the Steelers pick Devin Bush, LB, Michigan

The Steelers obviously have a need at Wide Receiver now, but the value is not really there in my opinion. More importantly, the Steelers have form in picking defensive studs early in the draft. They could have gone CB here also. But they didn't.

Bush is really good in pass defense, and well able to get after a QB which is clearly on display in the video above. He's a little small for an ILB, but he is intelligent and has great spatial awareness.

With the 21st pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select, Noah Fant, Tight End, Iowa.

Ideally Hockenson would still have been available here because he seems to be a better blocker but Wilson could really use an athletic tight end. Vannett had the most receptions at tight end last season, with 29 the lowest for a leading tight end in the division. Fant doesn't seem to be a liability in the run game which is good for the Seahawks but he comes alive in the passing game, especially off play action. His combine was very impressive and his size should allow him to create mismatches in coverage.

With the 22nd pick of the 2019 Boards.ie Mock Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select

    AJ Brown-Wide Receiver-University of Mississippi

The Ravens have needs at linebacker with the departure of CJ Mosley, edge is also a possibility in the 1st round after losing Za'Darius Smith and Terrell Suggs. But theres probably no bigger need on this this team than wide receiver, the need seems to be so great that they could realistically use the first couple of picks on that position, even if the team is moving in a run first offense.

I can hear the groans for Ravens fans with this pick, but if its some consolation I've decided to ignore the injury prone athletic freak (Breshad Perriman anyone!!) and go with the man that played opposite him, a far more complete receiver than Metcalf.

I feel Brown could be the ideal WR for Jackson and the Ravens offense, he's big and strong enough to handle defenders, both for creating separation as well as blocking in the run game. He has an excellent route tree and good at going up and getting contested catches, which is a young QB's best friend.

The cons against Brown are nearly identical to those that were used against Juju when he was coming out of college, he had the tape but didn't but up elite combine numbers. But I'm going for what the tape says all-day over what 40 time he ran etc. I'm sure if Brown turned into the type of player Smith-Schuster has become Ravens fans would be more than happy to use a first on him.

With the 23rd pick of the 2019 Boards.ie Mock Draft, the Houston Texans select
    Josh Jacobs, running back, Alabama.

With Lamar Miller in the final year of his 4 year, 26m contract, the Texans look to bolster their running back options. Jacobs is coming off a season of 640 rushing yards with an excellent average of 5.33 yds per carry. He shot to particular prominence in the SEC Championship game against Oklahoma, rushing for 98 yards.

With the 24th pick of the 2019 Boards.ie Mock Draft, the Oakland Raiders select
D.K. Metcalf wide receiver Ole Miss

Having got Kyler already you have to give him options and with AB going to be double teamed D.K is going to stretch defenses

Drafting Metcalf could make for a dangerous combination, and one that could grow to be even more productive than what Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster had in Pittsburgh.

Gruden may be looking to create the most dynamic offense in the league. While that does nothing to help their defense, which is where their struggles truly are, Gruden may not view that as high a priority as everyone else.
They still have the 27th pick to strengthen defense and next years draft as this is a rebuild year
They could also trade Carr for help on defense

If he had Brown and Metcalf as his wide receivers, it would be hard to argue against it.

With the 25th pick of the 2019 Boards.ie Mock Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select Dexter Lawrence Defensive Lineman Clemson.

    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTdSBqDiTcyi2UjY7ZbJOixyY4Og_oKiHiXN5YxUm3fz5KGoOy9

Philly like to build in the trenches and with an aging DL I see Dexter Lawrence as an excellent pick for them here at the bottom of the first. Despite having Fletcher Cox the Eagles ranked in the bottom third of the NFL in run defence last year and drafting Lawrence would help remedy that immediately. Lawrence is an absolute beast of a defensive tackle at 6-4 and 342 pounds. As a pass rusher, he primarily relies on his strength and power to push the pocket and only recorded 1.5 sack last season. However he didn't really get many opportunities, because Clemson brought in more explosive rushers in obvious passing situations. Where he excels is in being a dominant run defender. He easily stacks single blocks on the front side and refuses to be cut off on the back side. Lawrence showcased his incredible strength during the bench press at the Combine, he posted 36 reps top amongst all defensive lineman and second amongst all players in this years draft. Lawrence has a very high motor and almost never takes a play off. His combination of size and athletic abilities allow him the versatility to play different roles on the defensive line. He can play the nose tackle and three technique in a 3-4 defense, as well as the one and three techniques in a 4-3 defense.

With the 26th pick of the 2019 Boards.ie Mock Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select JJ. Arcega-Whiteside, WR, Stanford.

    ClULEMB.png

The run on skills position players continues, and the Colts jump at this opportunity to select a top end wide receiver to help Luck.

The articulate Arcega-Whiteside brings a unique story to the NFL. Both of his parents played professional basketball in Europe, and he was actually born in Spain before moving to South Carolina at the age of 6.

While he put basketball behind him after high school, his extensive background in the game – not to mention some tutelage from his mother – has helped him improve as a receiver.

“It all comes down to technique,” Arcega-Whiteside explained. “It’s hard to jump over somebody if you’re putting weight on his legs. That’s what they teach you in basketball. You’re going to put your hip on his quad, his legs and knees because it’s hard for them to get up over you. You don’t even have to jump. The ball’s just going to come to you.

“My mom was a post player so she taught a couple of post skills. It all comes to the basketball background that I have.”

Arcega-Whiteside has improved over his last three seasons, going from 24 catches in 2016 to 48 and 63 passes last year as a senior. He’s always been a big-play target, averaging 16.4 yards per catch for his career, and 14 of his 28 touchdowns came in 2018.

Along with recent acquisition Devin Funchess, JJ would mean that the Colts' wideouts are a strength rather than something Luck, Reich and OC Nick Sirianni have to scheme around.

The Raiders' biggest need in this draft is DL, especially at DE where their pass-rush is non-existent. However, with the top DL prospects off the table Gruden takes a chance here. He goes with the best DT (and arguably player) on the board, however one that carries baggage and will also likely miss most of his rookie season.

With the 27th pick of the 2019 Boards.ie Mock Draft, the Oakland Raiders select Jeffrey Simmons, DT, Mississippi State.

    636099057833130359-B54O4815-2-2.jpg?width=534&height=712&fit=crop

Jeffrey Simmons was only a few months ago considered an early first round pick, however during his preparation for the combine he blew out his knee (ACL) and will likely miss a good portion of his rookie season, if not all of it.
He was also captured on camera in a street-fight, during which he repeatedly hit a woman who was having an altercation with his sister. His staff at Mississippi State say they aren't concerned about him repeating that mistake, and indeed his time at college was largely incident free.

Simmons was a locked-on 1st round pick until he did his knee, but even with that he should see himself off the board before day 2. Simmons has 3 solid years behind him at Miss State, and in the most recent of which he was met with a lot of double teams. However, in each season he has put up very good stats whilst showing all the qualities of long time starter in the NFL.

    Pros:
    • Hard-worker
    • Leader both on and off the field
    • Use of hands
    • Football IQ - good but not great
    Cons:
    • Chequered past
    • Just blew out his knee
    • Tackling - his major weakness on the field

With the 28th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the San Diego LA Chargers select:

    Cody Ford, OL, Oklahoma

With Old Man Rivers not getting any younger, Chargers need help in the trenches, which they get with Ford. He is a mauler who can play either at RT or be pushed in to RG. His power blocking style should give Melvin Gordon plenty of lanes to exploit.

The Kansas City Chiefs (Big pussy bonpensiero) are now on the clock.

The Cheifs come into this draft in relatively good shape, however they do have a lot of defensive needs. Their secondary is probably where they will spend their 1st round pick and it will more than likely go on a cornerback, especially if only 1 is taken in the first 28 picks. With that being said...

With the 27th pick of the 2019 Boards.ie Mock Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select Byron Murphy, CB, Washington.
    Byron+Murphy+Montana+v+Washington+0Sh18zpO1Etl.jpg

There are 3 CBs that stand out in this draft; Byron Murphy, Greedy Williams and DeAndre Baker. With Greedy Williams off the table it becomes slightly easier, but there doesn't seem to be much of consensus on who the best of the 3 is.
Byron Murphy is PFF's top graded cornerback in this year's draft. He has a 47.7% completion rate against him and a whopping 17 forced incompletions in his last year of college football. Murphy has excellent instincts for the game and should make a decent amount of interceptions over his NFL career. He can play inside or outside, however with his slightly smaller frame he may not be entirely comfortable going man-to-man with TEs and some of the bigger WRs.

D9Male is on the clock with the 30th overall pick for the Green Bay Packers.
