Nice lil green day today, lost a fair bit of profit in the last week but decent recovery now.

Anyone who stayed patient and bought dips will be laughing all the way to the bank.

I’ve no fresh FIAT landing until Monday earliest. A dip to 48k region be welcome.

Watch out lads, Biden and Yellen have knee-capped the stock market and are coming for your crypto next. Apparently proof of stake puts an even bigger hole in the ozone layer than proof of work somehow. I can only see cryppling new tax laws in the pipeline as the solution...

Don't like what's happening at the moment. Feels like this Doge rubbish has really unsettled the progress of the last few months.
Elon and Twitter users like Angelo with huge following are driving money away from bitcoin.

God damn it. Of course the second I buy back in on the dips it keeps dipping. Didn't hear anything about this tax FUD until it was too late. Oh well. I'll be sleeping with some stop losses on tonight!

You'd have to be keeping an eye on things it so volatile.

I can see a dump tomorrow night as well because of last weekend.

Have a grand in binance account and Thinking of buying btc but volatility is making me think twice. Eth looks a bit better but who knows what’s gonna happen tomorrow ðŸ˜

Thats just a bullsh1t bear trap off the back of FUD from Bidens excellent suggestion to tax the ultra-rich, great resilience being shown by ETH aswell, we are going to see some fireworks this Summer.

Crypto gonna be the least of Biden's worries after he kneecapped the stock market today. Gonna be some ANGRY phone calls in Washington tomorrow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,191 ✭✭✭Jeff2

Looks like it hit the bottom and might move up some but the weekend will be crazy.

The issues with the US stock market are far, far broader than the dip coincidental with the Biden announcement.
The DTCC is approaching a crisis with regards it's deposited securities being used as a fractional reserve and contributing to naked shorting that is approaching a reckoning.
The current dark pool and naked shorting issues are quite ironically IMO are perfect use case for immutable Blockchain tech.

There is worse to come in US stocks and the recent rush by banks there to raise cash and close locations are a pointer IMO.
Some great academic work on this is.
The book "Naked, Short and Greedy" by Wall Street whistleblower **Dr. Susanne Trimbath** https://spiramus.com/naked-short-and-greedy and the paper "The Rise and Effects of the Indirect Holding System" by law professor **David C. Donald** https://www.ilf-frankfurt.de/fileadmin/\_migrated/content\_uploads/ILF\_WP\_068.pdf

These 2 works are the basis for a somewhat out there, but quite compelling DD over on Reddit by u/atobitt that makes for some great reading.
    https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/mvk5dv/a_house_of_cards_part_1/

This isn't just about climate change and GME/AMC, a systemic vulnerability at the core of the market has been exposed and could well lead a compounding of any crash on the back of lockdowns and taxes.

The cash raises by banks, the already completed margin calls and those funds on the cusp of it.
The really strange price action across the markets over the last few weeks and the rush of money from crypto back to cash and precious metals all point towards people getting ready to go to the mattresses and weather something of a crash IMO.

What did Biden do that triggered this dip?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,012 ✭✭✭✭banie01

What did Biden do that triggered this dip?

His climate plan calls for 52% cut in greenhouse emissions and a rise in corporate tax to 48% by 2030.
Yellen is working on a plan to align the rates internationally and prevent tax surfing/shopping.

  • Registered Users Posts: 498 ✭✭BrandonBay86

I would say it tends to influence the stock market more than crypto, but the Democrats are happily letting a rumour fly around that they intend to double capital gains tax for high earners: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/22/biden-to-propose-capital-gains-tax-hike-to-fund-education-and-child-care.html (which would bring it to a higher level than Irish CGT, an achievement that very few countries are managing, as most of us on this forum would know :-)).

Waking up to my second big doomp in less than a week.

Not great for someone who only got into crypto 2 months ago, at least I don't have much invested, chump change compared to others here I'd imagine.

No point even selling now, just holding.

42k $ next support lol? I'm warning up to the idea of starting to dollar average back into btc, waiting for max pain yet however.

Something similar to myself, got absolutely fùckin rinsed last night, pretty much had all my profit wiped out now since I started crypto. I've only got small holdings but I'm not prepared to sell anything yet.

This article says dip is temporary and price will be back up soon but I really doubt
    https://www.reuters.com/technology/fears-biden-tax-blow-leave-cryptocurrencies-ether-bitcoin-ropes-2021-04-23/

I entered crypto market recently and invested around 2k but now its gone down to 1.6k Looking to add more if dip continues as I would holding it for long term.

    Hi all,
I recently decided to get into crypto, mostly thanks to using the brave browser. Im total noob but trying to learn. Im currently using uphold for buying and I was wondering what peoples view is on uphold? If not uphold then what would be a better alternative?

PS. I only started a couple of weeks ago with €250, just to get a feel for it. I was up €70 last week to roughly €320 total but down to about €195 total today.. :D

Never used uphold myself but I was under the impression that it was primarily for stocks with a limited selection of crypto. A dedicated crypto currency exchange like kraken might be better.

From someone who entered into Crypto with ETH at €1k and subsequentally seen it go down to €80 in a year and nothing for a while after, anyone who has just entered, HODL and don't panic.

Dips happen, good time to buy. Better days ahead.

It pains me to see a new generation of bag holders being born.
Just look at the Ripple thread, posters just getting back into profit/breaking even after buying in 2017/18 and now its back down to $1.11,
The XRP holders believe its going to take over from SWIFT, it wont and you will be left with heavy bags.
I have been leading horses to water and despite all evidence presented to them some refuse to drink.
Dont buy a single coin/token this weekend as we usually have a dip on the weekend and towards the end of the month, spend the time digging into Link, over 500 confirmed integrations/partnerships and rising each day, compare that to Cardano!
Dont blindly reject it because some here believe it to be no good, after your own research you dont think its going to be huge, best of luck to you.

    https://www.uxsequence.io/news/swift-chainlink-integration/

If anyone has some criticism of LINK please post it, would love to see it

We're not even a full 12 months after the halving and people are saying things like that, baffling, it would be extremely shocking if the bull run was over before May

I am Satoshi he is a fraud.

I used to think he was a fraud, but the defendants in the recent libel case caved when they saw the discovery stuff so something of substance spooked them. I'm on the fence.

    We're all in this psy-op together.🤨
