Looking to build a gaming PC for this amount of money. I won't need a keyboard or mouse, I will need a monitor but that is from a separate budget but I would still be eager to hear suggestions on that front as I have no clue. I can stretch to maybe 150 - 200 for the monitor.

I would like to be able to play Witcher 3, Battlefield, Hitman, Civ etc. The machine would be used only really for gaming.

Looking to buy this in the next week so any advice would be much appreciated.

Monitor should be fine with Nvidia's implementation of FreeSync.

Squeezed it in just shy of €800.
You could also drop CPU down to Ryzen 5-1400 (£89.99) & upgrade to newer Ryzen 3000 CPU in a few months.

Thank you very much for your help, just out of interest as I am living in Thailand.

If I can not find that motherboard or RAM are there any alternatives that would be just as good or close to it?

    Thanks again

Ah, that complicates things as I don't know Thai prices/taxes.

For AMD Ryzen, generally MSI B450 chipset boards are among the best (B450/X470 tier list).
When buying CPU, the 2600X, 1600, and 1500X have the better Wraith Spire cooler included
so that can save you a few bob.
RAM, get a matched kit of pretty much anything 2666MHz or above.

GPU, I'd definitely try to get GTX 1660 / 1660 Ti - not only is it heaps faster than AMD's mid-budget offerings, but they use less power so you can get away with any decent (80+ Silver/Gold) 350-400W PSU.

Monitor, you can look up models on the r/Nvidia FreeSync Master Testing list, or just buy whatever 1080p monitor as long as it's above 60Hz (e.g. 75/120/144).

Back again for more advice! Getting killed with the prices of hardware over here at the moment. Your specs including a HD and minus a monitor is coming out more like 750 euros when it comes to Thai baht. So I need to aim lower probably in the graphics card department.

What could I put together for 500 euro? As it will come out closer to 600 euro over this side of the world.

If you're not including the monitor in the price, you can get a dual-fan GTX 1660 for under 8'000 that's much faster.

    Other configs to consider:
Intel i5-9400F + B360/B365 motherboard (superb for cheap gaming)
    Ryzen 24000G (hyper-threaded).

If at all possible I would avoid the 2200G, it doesn't cut it really for AAA gaming in 2019. A Ryzen 1600 would be a better choice and is not much more from most places, and a good whack cheaper than the Ryzen 2600 or Intel 9400F.

You said the budget doesn't include a monitor so it should be easy enough to fit in a better processor though. The 2600 is a good middle ground.

That's all & well but you'd have to find a cheap 1600 in Thailand first

Well, then the 2600 either. The 2200G is going to be a major bottleneck from the get go, it really wouldn't make much sense for a PC geared towards AAA titles, you'd be better off with a better CPU and a cheaper GPU than the opposite.

Some Thai websites have the 2600 for under 6k baht.

Though the big site Invade has the 9400F for a good bit cheaper than the 2600 at the moment. Best off getting that, a basic enough motherboard and 8GB 2666/3000mhz ram.

Thanks a million to both of you, KO Kiki you really went above and beyond, thank you!

So with that build including a monitor I had about 24,000 - 24,5000 baht in my mind. If I put aside 1290 for a 1TB HD that would leave me with about another 2,000 baht free to invest elsewhere.

Should I put the 2,000 baht towards the CPU or the graphics card or the RAM?

    Thanks again.

CPU definitely. The 2200G is low-end and even in some current AAA games you'll get stuttering/frame drops. A 2400G is an improvement, but a Ryzen 2600 is ideal to not have to worry about the CPU for a good few years.

https://bit.ly/2vsFOwX - is this the one?

is only having 8 GB of ram going to effect me much?

    Yes that's the one.

8gb is grand for now but get a motherboard with 4 ram banks.

That way you can use 2x4gb now and add the same again down the line.

Whereas if you had just two banks, using a single stick of 8gb now can cause serious performance loss in some games....ram works best in pairs.

I just wanted to come back and say thank you and how much I appreciate all of the advice and help I received on this thread.

Ordered the PC yesterday, got the 2600 and the 570 plus 16 gb of RAM - all in all it worked out only 4 baht over my original budget.

    Cheers!

Good to hear. I was going to say, if you're living in Thailand, you'd be better off seeking advice on a Thai foreigner gaming group on facebook or meetup.com, that way you can get locally relevant advice. Or if you have any summer vacation plans to another Asian location, like South Korea or Japan, it might be a good idea to hold of a build until then; but you got a decent rig together so enjoy :)
