capable of eating deer - some exaggeration here - Jurassic Park owl????

They've big enough talons anyway, they probably rip the neck out of things and let them bleed to death

In reference to the owl being spooked by a cat. Enough said!!:rolleyes: Eagle Owls are well capable of dealing with any domestic moggie and even foxes or small dogs. But deer??Unless its a flying Megladon....

Like any owl, they strike, impale with their talons and crush and carry off their prey. Mostly, rats, mice ,hedgehogs, crows, pigeons, rabbits and occasionally carrion. They don't take healthy foxes, hares or lambs or dogs.

Going to put a warning in as it's already happening.

Any posts saying it was shot by farmers or hunters without proof is simply stirring (trying to be polite) and won't be tolerated.

All it does is start a row.

She doesn't reallly eat deer, just her grip is strong enough to kill a small tasty deer

Great news - she's been located

Considering that a GPS Crowd micro tracker costs less than 50 quid these days and is no larger or heavier than an old 10 p piece and has a battery life of about a week... The owners might want to put one on their next Xmas list.:P

Eurasian Eagle Owl (Bubo Bubo ;)) are magnificent creatures. I'm glad she's safe. Hope she enjoyed her bit of freedom.

And not native to this particular part of Europe so best if they all stay under lock and key in the control of their owners
