Hi guys, i am in the market for a new soundbar in the next few months, and have my choice narrowed to 4

3.1 options

https://www.richersounds.ie/p-203249-sony-htzf9-soundbar.aspx

https://www.richersounds.com/jbl-bar-3-1-black.html

2.1 options

https://www.richersounds.ie/p-203248-sony-htxf9000-soundbar.aspx

Which would be the better buy in each category or would you recommend something different altogether?
Hi Ffocused.

3.1 Options the Sony would win hands down in my opinion.

2.1 The Sony would come out on top again but it is more expensive.

You could perhaps also look at the Yamaha YSP2700 which was awarded 5 stars in What HiFi. Priced at £499

Thanks for the quick reply, does the ysp2700 do 4K/HDR passthrough on its HDMI inputs? I had looked at it but was unable to find a definitive answer online.

Hi Ffocused.

Took the following off of the Yamaha website:
HDMI® Terminals with 4K Ultra HD Support
The YSP-2700 has three HDMI® input terminals and one HDMI output terminal, and supports 4K/60p video signal pass-through.
It’s also compatible with HDCP2.2 digital copy protection.
This gives it extensive expandability, so you’ll be able to use it far into the future.
Below is the link to the product on Yamaha's website:
https://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/audio_visual/sound_bar/ysp-2700/features.html#product-tabs

Hope this is of help.

thanks for that, is the 2700 a new model for 2019 or has it been updated?
I am almost sure I was looking at it a few months back and it made no mention of 2.2hdmi or 'musicCast in its name'

If the 2700 and zf9 were both the same price..... which one?

I was hoping the zf9 would come down in price to £500 again like it was a few months ago, but the 2700 is tempting now as you just knocked £100 off the price yesterday.

Hey Ffocused.

The 2700 has been on the market for several years, there is no word on it finishing up at the minute.

The Sony would still come out on top as it is compatible with Dolby Atmos it also has the function to add wireless rear speakers. Don't get me wrong the YSP2700 does also sound great.

There is currently a trade in offer on the ZF9, where if you trade in your old soundbar you get £100 off.

Would a pc soundbar (see link) qualify for the trade in offer?

https://www.dell.com/en-ie/shop/dell-usb-soundbar-ac511/apd/520-11497/pc-accessories

I do have an old soundbar & sub also, but don’t fancy lugging them up to Belfast on a train & bus!

If a dell soundbar qualifies I would like to organise a demo on Saturday 27th April for the 2700 & zf9 & I will purchase one of them on the day.

Hi Ffocused.

Yip that would do as a trade in unit.

I will pencil you in for the demo of both units for the 27th.
What time do you think you might arrive at the store as we usually book it out in hourly blocks.

Look forward to having you visit our store :)

Hi Kenny

I got a price alert this morning for the ZF9, reduced to €563 in Harvey Norman which i could easily pick up at the weekend.

https://www.harveynorman.ie/tvs-headphones/audio/soundbars/sony-ht-zf9-3.1ch-bluetooth-soundbar-black.html

I am going to be a bit cheeky and ask if theirs any chance of a Boardsie special deal on the zf9 with the z9r rear speakers too?

That is probably the one I was going to go for all along and would be willing to purchase over the phone today for delivery if the price is right.

Hi ffocused,

thanks for the post and the opportunity to quote - we have already reduced our Euro price to match:
https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-203249-sony-htzf9-soundbar.aspx?swapstore=1

We also have the rear speakers available SA-Z9R - these are normally £299 / €319 but there is a £100 off deal if you purchase them in a bundle so if we assume that they are reduced to £199 / .85 to give us a Euro conversion then we would do the rears in a bundle at €234 - total = €797 - call it €790 including shipping..

We have the soundbar available in-store and the rears are available from the warehouse so if you would like to order just drop us a mail to sales@richersounds.ie with your contact details and one of the guys will give you a shout to arrange a delivery.

Thanks again and keep us posted if we can assist in any way,

ATVB,

Thanks John and Kenny, I will pass on the rears for now.
I have just placed an online order with you for the soundbar so you can cancel my demo slot for Saturday 27th @ 1pm.

Just out of curiosity, can you tell me what courier company you use or will it be An Post doing the delivery?

Hi ffocused,

Thanks for letting us know! I will cancel that demo.

The soundbar will be leaving on our next delivery from the Warehouse on 23rd April and will be delivered by Aramex. They will be in contact with an ETA and a tracking number closer to the time.

Thanks for the order!

Hi Kenny & John

I am going to be a bit cheeky here, but if i don't ask i definitely won't get!

I would now like to purchase the SA-Z9R rears to complement the soundbar.
I see they are reduced to €300 but was wondering if you could do any better on the price as i have already purchased the soundbar?

Hi ffocused,

Unfortunately 299 euro is the absolute best price I can do on those. I do have limited stock available in the warehouse though ready to ship.

Let me know what you think.

Kind regards

David

Can you do a price match on the Z9R rears?

I can get them from Amazon.de @ €274.21 including delivery

Hi ffocused

Unfortunately we only do price beats against competitors in the UK or Ireland
