Meath seem to have done a lot of planning of how to stop Dublin, little planning on what to do when they get forward

One of the awful negative symptoms of the modern game, trying to stop the opposition, but not a clue how to try and win the game.

I’m perfectly fine actually, wrong size ball for my liking.

Yes. Your posts show you are perfectly "fine".

One word to describe this game. Weird.

Meath going to be scoreless at HT. Has that happened in a SFC game before?

If Meath could actually put the ball over the bar.

    That looks bad for McCarthy.

TBF they've hit the post twice.

No fan of James McCarthy, but not nice to see him being carried off. Looks pretty serious.

    James McCarthy looks badly injured

Tiresome sh*te this. Like watching a pro outfit who are half arsing it, against a plucky part time outfit who will empty their tank for about 40-50 mins.

And the gulf is still huge.

Not far off what it is really! Pitiful from Meath not having scored in 32 mins.

    Finally they score

    Ah bollox. They ruined it.

Michael Daragh McAuley always look like he has his head sticking out the window of a car on a windy day.

    About time.

Good man ref. Walk the ball right in front of the posts. As if the Dubs don't have enough advantages.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,375 ✭✭✭✭fullstop

Christ almighty, if the ref is gonna start giving them those you may as well blow it up, two of them at it and instigated by the Dublin player.

Meath with 58% possession, no score. If they had any forward at all they’d be winning.

Have the even kicked any wides?

When you allow/fund one county to operate as practically a full time outfit then this is the result.

The balance has permanently shifted to the houses favour, population, funding, player pool, quality of administrator/technical staff. The only way Dublin wont win the AI is if they collectively decide no longer to take it seriously.

Format is no longer fit for purpose

Funny he didn’t spot that one...

Hopefully Rochie will be involved with the Mayo set up at some stage again.

Will be Galway manager next year which is a huge worry !

Is that not the exact same as what the Meath player just did?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭elefant

Am I the only one quite enjoying this?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,331 ✭✭✭jeremyj1968

MDM trying to knock the ball out of his hand, spoiling play again. The refs really need to start taking action on that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,217 ✭✭✭✭RMAOK

The dubs seem to be playing in fits and starts

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,799 ✭✭✭mightyreds

Can RTE not afford more cameras, trying to see what happened from the length of a field away

  • Registered Users Posts: 86 ✭✭MattB11

    Brutal

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,559 ✭✭✭Mahony0509

Meath’s shooting is laughable. Have they been training for it at all?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,331 ✭✭✭jeremyj1968

Jesus lots of Ewan McKenna reregs on today.

Haven't heard him on Off The Ball in a while. Wonder did he have a row with them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,392 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

It’s a pretty poor game to be fair, while the scoreboard is a fair reflection the teams performances out there, I’d hate to have paid in as a neutral.
