    That's the future

Not sure how well it will be received as it leaves a bit to be desired

Wonder how FF will address it

Foreign nationals (no such things as non nationals) once resident in Ireland and registered to vote are entitled to vote in local elections.

Nothing dodgy or corrupt about getting his support out. 3000 people were added to the register in Limerick West recently and you can guarantee that he is responsible for most of them They only thing he did wrong was go inside the exclusion zone.

I've heard of Irish politiitions in the past providing transport to get elderly supporters to the polls

Didn't the leader or post mention that a lot of these new registrations were potentially dodgy. 8 and 9 registrations from a 2 bed apartment for example....

He’s on the Leader whinging about it this morning even though he caused all the trouble. Anybody who voted for him should be feeling rightly embarrassed with themselves, we have enough corrupt homegrown muppets without importing more.

Problem is the people who voted were all "encouraged" to register by same guy over last few weeks.

I imagine he would be very difficult to control on the council.

I can't imagine greenways and cycle lanes will be on his agenda.

His agenda is integrating immigrants. Settling here instead of working just to post money home.

Early tallies look bad for social Democrats and good for the Greens. Elisa O'Donovan the only SD who looks to be in the running. Otherwise it's the usual suspects I think.

The late Mikey Kelly was not averse to "encouraging" the residents of Southill to vote for him in his highly successful campaign to be elected to the city council - so successful, in fact, that he amassed enough first preferences to become an Alderman. I presume this gentleman's attempts to do likewise do not stray beyond the bounds of legality or involve the use of firearms. Well, maybe not. He is a Fianna Fail candidate, after all!

Sheehan Hurley and pond in big trouble
Looks like the castletroy community turned their backs on them

If anyone seriously thinks for one minute the his,or his supporters agenda is 'integrating' they need to think again. What we are now witnessing is an exact carbon copy of what happened across the water over the last 20/30 years.
Speak to any friends or relatives over there and your eyes will soon be opened.
You are right about one thing, they will not be posting money home, their folks will soon be here, and he will have a running mate in the next council election.
No surprise that a bunch of shysters like Fianna Fail are facilitating these shenanagins. Goes to show the level they will stoop to in order to regain control of the council.

We need to build more 2 bed apartments in Castletroy and put 5 beds in each room...;)

Early days yet. Looking at the numbers I'd say a lot of Castletroy area boxes aren't opened yet. No sign of Secas either.

FF have been the largest party on the council for the last 5 years.......

The SDs are a party with serious issues at National Level.
The happy clappy populism and new politics are at odds with how they've handled "internal" matters.
The resignations over Kisyombe are I think only the tip of the iceberg for them.

I'm in the same parish as Mickey Kelly. Ran in the local as well.

I don't think landlords will get away with that. I moved into a room in Milford Grange back in 1996. A few months later the landlady said there be someone else moving in. I said no. That was the end of that attempt.

You don't need to move in, just use the address to register for a vote in the elections. ;)

I think the incident yesterday at the pollibg station was shocking.

Any candidate that breaks the rules should be disqualified and all votes voided.

Ignorance to the rules is not a valid excuse IMHO. If you believe you are qualifies to stand you should do your research.

I don't care what your background is or where you come from. If elected you stand for the people in your area.

Hard to know, the allegations being made are extremely serious, verging on libellous. I'm surprised boards have kept this thread open.

Honestly, I'd expect the losing candidates to call for a full investigation.
