how to remove paint from my 1.2m dish?.

    hi all i,ve a 1.2m irte prime focus dish which is aluminium and from years of sun and weather parts of the paint are gone you can see the silver aluminium.

    my question is what should i use to get shut of the rest of the paint?.

    also is a matt paint the best paint to use on it when i go and repaint it?.
    any advice be great thanks :)

    White spirit should do the job.Read instructions carefully re use of white spirit.Apply to surface by ribbing over with brush.then scrape off.Do not let it come into contact with skin.

    Tidy up with sandpaper get rid of any flakey or loose bits of paint,
    Bet option is a spray can for a nice even coverage with no mess

    wonder would a matt spray can in halfords be ok?,non metallic non lead etc.

    i was told a red or yellow colour would be ideal on it and would not absorb the sun as much,but imagine red or yellow on a sat dish i can,t lol

    Think they were having you on, a black or grey do the job fine

    big time charles lol there was a its actuall black paint thats on it.
