Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How many stinkers is that now from De Gea this season alone?

Including World Cup he’s been out of form pretty much for a year now.

Still makes some great saves but liberally sprinkled with howlers now too.

Speaking of, karius could be available in the summer when degea heads off

Willian got booked for exactly the same as Herrera there. Atkinson is really really poor.

Why are they making Bailly hobble off there? Surely, they have stretchers at OT?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Have Chelsea even tried a shot on De Gea this half? If they just bombard him with shots from distance there’s a good chance of one going through him.

    That’s a red card

That’s 2 red cards Man Utd should’ve had.

    Atkinson having a 'mare.

Neville hates to back track even when he sees the replay and knows he is wrong.

Every day of the week. Shocking tackle.

Said it was a poor tackle when it happened to be fair to him.

Rojo has avoided some amount of red cards the last few years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

Ouch!! Rojo should have been sent off there.

    Rojo being Rojo.

Good old Atkinson, can always not rely on him.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

That's a shocking tackle by Rojo. He should have walked for that. But he does seem to have a knack for dodging red cards.

Both teams are ****e here. Neither look like creating a chance never mind scoring

Not for the first time I'm saying it but Loftus Cheek is not a good player. 2 very basic passes he failed to make that put the ball out of play.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

You'd think Chelsea would like to win this as it'll knock Utd out of the CL race.

His main strength seems to be his eh, strength. He's a big unit.

Poor teams, zero confidence, suspect coaches, ropey ref.

Just shows how very very average the league is outside the top two and the standard of officiating this season hasn't been great.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

It'd all but seal fourth for them, if you ask me. Strange performance from them. Look half interested.

Higuain v Shaw down the wing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

Higuain is making Sturridge's performance on Friday look like Messi.
What a waste of space he is

I am surprised Neville is on the commentary duty thought he be still licking his wounds from his battles with Keane on Wednesday

Dodgy Dave strikes again, producing a howler on a weekly basis these days, he's as leaky as the Old Trafford roof.

Ref was absolutely awful, we were much better second half and could have nicked that.

    De Gea the difference again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,403 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Good result for Chelsea. Beat Watford at home and they’ll be there. Would have been good value for the win in the end, Utd didn’t have much to offer in the second half imo.

Lorius de Gea saving the planet one howler at a time.

he just saved united from losing the game with that last save , albeit he turned his back to it

Two really average sides, neither coaches having any real clue.
Should be enough to relegate United to Thursday nights anyway.

Even as a race to finish as tallest dwarf this is comically bad.

Should have won that, Chelsea awful and jesus Higuian is bad.

a much fairer assessment of the game in my opinion , both side are miles off from where they want to be

is champions league enough to save sarri's job?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,128 ✭✭✭✭Oranage2

All but Europa League for united at this point. Chelsea are major favourites for 4th. Though chelsea and arsenal should come to a gentleman's agreement that whoever finishes fourth let's the other win the europa league and half off a player.

That game was desperately short on quality from both sides. Plenty of effort but not much else.

Valencia might have a view on that.

Valencia might have a view on that.

Besides the strikers they can pick a player for free if they willingly lose.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

One more win might be enough for Chelsea to get 4th.

You’d imagine United should beat Huddersfield and Cardiff. But then again...

Can Arsenal win both their remaining games? Hard to see them winning at Burnley given their horrific away form.

Not dropping under performers. Solsksaer is weak

First half was fine but it was like the Alonso goal effected both sides. Second half was severely lacking in quality & odd at times.
Rojo's tackle, Higuain "running", Loftus Cheek playing like a Sunday league player, Ole joking with Pedro when he was being subbed on & the fact United were being pinned back late on at home against a team who played not to lose was odd to see.

I got the sense in the last half hour that he was happy to settle for not getting beat. Bringing on McTominay and leaving Martial idle on the bench indicated that he didn't want to fully go for it imo. If they had pushed on and got caught on the break (though they nearly got caught anyway) he would have moved to 8 losses in 10. A draw was very important for him personally. Needless to say, if he's in that headspace he's unlikely to succeed in the role long term.

I think it's safe to say that if he hadn't have already been granted a full time contract Utd fans would be happy to let him go back to Norway and roll the dice in the open market on a different manager.

This week's fixtures have pretty much ended the league for all the teams besides City and Liverpool. Chelsea fans are the only other fans who can get some joy I suppose.

Interesting set of fixtures next though. Can Brendan do his old club a favor? Or will Rafa break the internet by taking points of his beloved former club?

Can't wait to tune in next week to find out.

His biggest managerial achievement is winning the Norwegian league and he thought it was a good idea to play Ashley Young at center back, was he ever likely to succeed?
