Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'd even suggest that if Liverpool finish second on a recond high points total, that this is even a greater achievement thab united in 99.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,050 ✭✭✭✭The Talking Bread

Liverpool not winning a league in 30 years after winning something like 10 or 11 in the previous 15 takes some beating in terms of achievements.
Ps...I'm only joking. Don't get offended.

    Fulham v Cardiff

I’d even suggest that when United beat Arsenal 8-2 with the gardener, the kit man, and the guy who sells sausage rolls all in the side it was a greater achievement than 99 and Liverpool’s points total combined

    Matter of opinions really

Random fact of the day Adam Johnson has more assists than Jesse Linegard in the league in the last 6 years and he's been in prison for 3 of them :pac:

    That surely can't be true?

That’s probably a greater achievement than 99....depending on your perspective.

Sure Jesse Lingard is only a kid, probably still a teenager surely.

No wonder Adam Johnson is being mentioned in the same breath as him.

Fancy Burnley to get something against City. I saw their 2-1 win against Tottenham a few months back and it was deserved. They also got a 1-1 draw against City in this very fixture last season. Fernandinho looks like he could miss out and he'd be a huge loss in a physical game like this. And there's no pressure on Burnley any more either after their point against Chelsea so it's almost like a free shot for them.

Yeah I'm still convinced City will drop points somewhere, hope I'm wrong though.

A Spurs win today will put the squeeze on Man Utd, who will have to avoid defeat to avoid EL football this weekend.

Six points behind them at the start of play so won’t make much of a difference to United what Spurs do for the rest of the season.

You're right of course. It's all down to Chelsea beating Man Utd.

Jaysus I can’t understand the love-in for Spurs among commentators and referees this season.
    Why is that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,403 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Lingard’s pretty average, I’m not surprised he has little output to show for his appearances. If he wasn’t English he’d barely ever be mentioned.

I realise you're jesting re. the "teenager" comment, but it surprised me when I looked up his age. He's 26 now; bloody ancient! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_Lingard

Foyth must be the least Latin American looking Latin American I've ever seen. Wouldn't have blinked if you told me he was Swedish...

    fixtures left and my predictions

Spurs - 70 points (before in play game)

    West Ham (home) - win
    Bournemouth (away) - win
    Everton (home) - win

    79 points

    Chelsea - 67 points

United (away) - loss (impossible to call using logic so going with heart here)
    Watford (home) - win
    Leicester (away) - win

    73 points

    Arsenal - 66

    Leicester (away) - win
    Brighton (Home) - win
    Burnley (away) - win

    75 points

    Uniited - 64

    Chelsea (home) - win
    Huddersfield (away) - win
    Cardiff (home) - win

    73 points

Spurs and Arsenal go through. And deservedly, given how the season went.

Basically Arsenal fans are United fans tomorrow to top off the theme of the week

Think you’re giving Arsenal away a bit of unearned respect there

Nah, Leicester are just as bad at home as Arsenal are away to be fair.

Spurs leaving it late again, if they get it done at all...

    Edit: big if now...

Janssen off the line in the 94th minute! Would have been some mini-redemption

Spurs have lost 12 now in the league. Wow.

Yet I still have more faith in them in the top 4 race than the 3 other teams fighting for those remaining 2 spots.

Battle for 7th a lot closer now.

Tough for West Ham to get there. Near mathematically impossible.

Watford V Wolves a big one for that.

Hard not to considering they have 3 more points than anyone else with only 2 games to go.

Spurs really must be cursing the lack of transfers - sure they are now working for the stadium but they could have taken a punt on a couple of fairly cheap players who might only play a handful of times but who also might have been the difference between squeaky bum time and comfortable.

Shane Long playing for a new contract/move. 1-0

I wonder would Spurs consider selling Kane to give Poch funds to buy players.

The would easily get £150m for Kane on top sell other deadwood players and whatever transfer budget Poch already had you could see them with about £300m to do business with in the summer.

Kane is crocked. Glass ankles. If they got 150m they should grab it with both hands!

Odoi knocked out cold in the Fulham game.

Awake now but doesn't look in a good way.

Looked like a kick to the throat/chin by accident.

"and this, kids, is why you communicate with your teammates"

Neither calls and claims the ball so one ends up getting a boot from the other.

He's just had a contender for one of the worst misses ever.

Some ding dong game Soton 3 - 2 Bournemouth.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

Fulham really are a spoiler side since they went down.

    Soton 3 - 3 Bournemouth

Watford 1 - 2 Wolves (best of the rest as I type)

3-3 now. If Alan Hansen is watching, he'll be having kittens watching those defences.
