I had cartillage removed/tidied in my knee through keyhole surgery and I am running 4 or 5 days a week the last few years.

    Is that advised?

Cartilage does heal^^? Studies have shown^^

My GP told me stop running anyway.

Main cartilage is fine (anticular), it's wearing away in one particular spot the cause of which I am going to put down to my job...

No point seeing a physio she reckons.

    I will though.

I was mid 30s when I first noticed knee trouble. Over time, just learned to listen to body and take it handy. No running now but still walk a fair bit. Wouldn't be jumping down off a bank or wall onto hard ground though, come to think of it maybe the hill running wasn't a great idea! But I'm sure everyone is a bit different.
