    Hi,

Overnight, without updating anything or changing anything my WiFi connection to my PC has become very laggy.
My download speeds on programs like steam for example have gone from 5mbps to 80kbps..
Webpages take very long to load, if at all on the first attempt.

If I use cmd to ping google.com I get normal results then suddenly jumps to 3000+ms or even looses resolver. If I ping my own router the same happens.

I have tried the fix I found everywhere on google by using:
netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=no interface="WiFi" (Yes correct interface)
    but no difference.

I have be using this wireless network with little to no issues for over a year.
I even did a system restore back over a week ago. No difference.
Reset my router, powered everything off for awhile. Changed wireless channels, used an app to see which channel was most optimal.

I might just have to buy a pair of powerline adapters again but I found the last ones I had to not even be as good as the WiFi connection and they died after only 6 months!

I assume you are using windows. do you have a programme that tracks in real time your network traffic , which you could use to monitor network traffic when you are not actually using the internet? That's the 1st thing I would do to see if I had become a bot.

Try a known good device on your wifi and confirm the speed is normal and then you can isolate the problem to the device you are currently using.

Nope, no weird connections or anything taking place. WiFi is working as attended on all other devices. I reinstalled network drivers but no difference either :/

Maybe the WLAN USB has became faulty. I'll have to get another one to test.

So it was the WLAN usb adapter. I got a new one and back to normal :)
