Hi, is there a such thing as a soundbar that will support  rear left and right speakers?

I am moving house soon and when building the new house I ran two speaker cables to the rear of the room just in case I needed them later.

So I am wondering can I get away with a soundbar in this room now and it would be great if I could connect a left and right rear speaker.

    Regards,

    Hi Mr Freeze.

You can get soundbars that allow for rear speakers.

However these would be wireless rather than the normal speaker cable. They do need mains power to work thought.

    The following can add rears.

    LG SK9Y priced at £599

The rears for this are the LG SPK8 but we are unable to supply these unfortunately. There are a few places online selling these for around £149 for the pair.

Sony there their ZF9 also priced at £599

The rears for this are the SAZ9R priced at £299 but if purchased with the ZF9 there is a £100 discount dropping them to £199

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I might have to scrap the rear speaker idea so as I have no sockets to power wireless speakers and its too late to make a change like that now.

Would you recommend something like the Sony HT-XF9000 ( is this similar to the ZF9 you mentioned) or Samsung Samsung HW MS550?

    Hi Mr. Freeze,

rather than go for the Sammy or Sony why not stick with a Soundbar specialist like Yamaha, save yourself a good few €€ AND get better sound quality with something like the YAS207:
    https://www.whathifi.com/yamaha/yas-207/review

It sounds pretty special and at just £249 / €299 it is great value as well!
