Axa and aib are currently giving good quotes on older cars. About 6 or 700 seems to be the norm. There's nearly always one or two insurers willing to offer decent quotes every year.

About 30 mins from there so yes it could have been that very car. It was heading back that direction so maybe someone took it for a test drive and then bought it.

The NCT cert in the window says 30.08.20, even with the extension it's well out.

What is he covering with is hand his insurance or lack of maybe for it?
It's a very basic Focus no fogs, no rear electric windows, no alloys typical main Ford back then. But if that is all you want cheap basic motoring it would do the job for someone. Its not even the best Focus do the MK1 its a MK2.

I think that won't get through an NCT without fixing the central locking.

The doors will need to open to check the seat belts.

The doors can be manually opened, the key only unlocks one of the front doors. That’s not a NCT fail, at least it wasn’t on my car 2 weeks ago.

He says in the ad that they can only be opened from the inside -

I think you were ok because the doors could be opened from outside.

I’d say that he means that 3 of the doors need to unlocked from the inside, and can then be opened from outside. That’s the situation with my yoke anyway, the key will unlock either front door, but not all 4 together.

Anyway, if someone is willing to buy it without a NCT cert, they’d hardly be bothered much with that sort of issue.

Yes could be that ok.

The trouble is that fixing something like that could take the shine off a bargain.

Taking door cards off and fiddling around with electrics is soul (and knuckle ) destroying.

Was just looking up cars for sale in France as I'll be working there for a year. The prices (and valuations)are almost the opposite than here!
The old cars are expensive and the new cars are cheap.
My 05 corsa that I have here would be around 700 euros...in France its at least 3 times the price @2100.
And new cars are like 20% cheaper over there!

That’s fairly typical of the continent- you see 20+ year old cars in very good condition and still make good money. In France especially. Either be scrapped here or about to be

I was over in the states a few years ago and was the same. 10byr old cars selling for crazy money, where as new cars very cheap.
