    Friends,

2019 will see the 3rd annual Steven Mc Colgan Memorial Shoot in memory of our friend and colleauge Steven.
As with previous years the competition for the Steven Mc Colgan Gun will be hosted by the team here at the Midlands National Shooting Centre of Ireland.
This is a competition which has grown rapidly in the last two years and has raised substantial donations to charity. As a further and most fitting tribute to Steven the money raised was through some highly competitive shooting by teams of both experienced and newer shooters in a fun and friendly atmosphere - Indeed it had been commented that hearing protection was required last year to drown out the laughter and banter more so than the report from the rifles.

The date of this years shoot has been fixed for the 7th of July so hopefully we'll see you on the line then.
The format is currently being developed but at it's heart is Steven's ambition to combine many elements of rifle shooting to include all those shooters from his beloved army background through hunting and precision shooting enthusiasts and long range specialists.
The 600 yard element is an essential part of those plans as it was seen by Steven to be an under used middle ground which provides a realistic test of all of the above shooters and their equipment.

In the coming weeks we will provide updates on the progress of the competition format. We will give information on any regulations to be complied with - a simple competition which is about shooting and not equipment. The course of fire will be finalised and is intended to generally remain a surprise until the day itself but rest assured that there will be aspects to suit, and hopefully test, all shooting disciplines.

If you would like to remember our friend by supporting a worthy cause with a shot and a smile get that rifle out of the cabinet and get to know it, or possibly a new aspect of it, again.
Please encourage others you know to come and try a fun way of testing themselves alongside others who are more than willing to pass on any advice you might want.
