Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Im noticing my broadband usage is suddenly quite high, the cap with with Eir on their "unlimited" bundle is 1Tb, was charged 100 quid on my current bill for going over and when i check the usage for last month its showing we used a whopping 8 TB??

Every single month before that was well below 1tb so i don't understand this sudden colossal spike..

Has anyone ever experienced this before?

    Thanks in advance

Yes was about to go over after a huge spike on 1 day

compained to eir they checked the line couldnt find anything - had to leave it off 2 do line checks for 48 hours

in the end after a lot of arguement the customer care changed it over to a new unlimited mothly tariff

8TB is an insane amount to use regardless what apps are being used, it has to be a mistake

What do you mean by modified app? The heaviest i can think of that would be used is netflix, which is watched for an hour or 2 in the evening and then the kids might watch a few videos on youtube on the iPhone, nothing else in the house is really used...

Do any Neighbours have your WIFI password? good idea to change it!

Normally on the EIR router in the settings you can see which device has sent/received the traffic. Could be a virus on a pc/laptop

The Eir Wifi data is treated separately and not counted for the user as far as I am aware.

So 5 months on and it’s happened again, a sudden spike of about 8tb in one day which is impossible, usually get a max of about 80mb...

The only thing I can see causing it is changing the ISP router for my own router, first time it happened I had just swapped it out completely but eventually had to swap back due to another issue, this time the ISP router is in bridge mode with my own router and it’s somehow spiked again.., Eir monitoring software is ****e whatever way it works

had big spikes last month and this month not in bridge mode but monitor might work right if not standardly set up at all times
