Have always had my car insurance with same company as use to work for them and then got staff discount for a number of years after. Discount is gone now so when renewal notice came had a serious increase so need to look around. Having never had to do it before what is the best approach? Ring brokers? Online? Ring insurance…

Start with online quotes and do as many as you can. You should get a good breakdown of prices from that alone. There's a big list of Irish insurers on this forum worth a shot (sticky at the top).
