Joint Mortgage - Permanent V Contract Job

    Hi there,

I have a question in relation to applying for a joint mortgage.

I am currently permanently employed, while my wife is employed on a contract basis. Does the fact that she's on a contract basis for her employment affect a joint mortgage application i.e. in the amount of money the bank is willing to lend?

Is permanent employment treated differently to contract employment in the application and if so in what ways?

    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hi RichCRX

Thanks for getting in touch this morning.

As many factors are involved within a mortgage application, if you would like to send us a PM with your full name and contact number we would be happy to arrange for one of our Mortgage Specialists to give you a call and chat further.

(If you do hold any accounts please advise which Branch they're linked to)

Hope to hear from you soon,

    Many thanks
    Alison
