Just throwing this out there as I am at a crossroads!

I have a degree in engineering along with a post graduate diploma in software development.
I also hold a NUIG foundation level diploma in Training.

I am assuming there would be no way to get into the school system as a teacher or tutor without doing a Teacher training Course or masters!

Thanks in advance for any advice !

You would need to do a 2 year PDGE, costs about €12,000, not sure what subjects you could teach though?
You could try adult education or night classes maybe with no teaching qualification.

Lecturing would also be an option for you.

With those subjects, you would be snapped up.

Wouldn’t he at the very least need a masters?

Further Education/Solas as a tutor, you wouldn't need a teaching qualification.

No. The job spec is that a Level 8 honours degree is the requirement.

And of course any higher qualifications would be of benefit, but are not a requirement.
