Is uncooked pig meat worse than uncooked chicken?

I've heard in school and online that the worst meat to eat raw isn't chicken but pork because it carries tapeworm eggs.

However I've heard that tapeworms hardly/are non-existent in the pork on the shelves of supermarkets in Western countries due to it being treated with UV light to kill the eggs. It's only an issue in developing countries. That and the fact that places like Ireland are too cold to have tapeworms.

We were taught strictly as children never to eat raw bacon or pork for that reason. Just after the war that was.
